In a media conference with EU High Representative Borrel and European Commissioner Varhelyi, Prime Minister Rama declared that the government has withdrawn from golden passports. He said that no decision will be made until the European court decides on this issue.

"We have suspended the process for golden passports until the position is clarified at the European level. We didn't invent this, we got it from the EU countries. We will not bring this issue to the table without seeing how the European Court decides. If the court decides against, this topic will not be opened again, if it decides in favor, each country should do its own work
. We have talked about the fiscal amnesty, our position is known. We greatly appreciate the Commission's commitment to expertise, we want to continue working with the experts. We don't give up just because this is not a good thing at first because we have our reasons to think that this is the right thing for Albania, but we want to do it together, so thanks for the expertise and we want to see it through to the end process" said Rama.
