"BF" and the Christian Democratic Alliance appealed the election results for these two municipalities, KAS comes out with the urgent decision

The Complaints and Sanctions Commission rejected today two appeal requests on the May 14 election process.

Initially, KAS rejected the appeal request of the coalition "Bashke Fitomje" that opposed the election result for the mayor and the municipal council of Kruja.

In this complaint, the invalidity of the elections in those VCs of the Krujë municipality where commissioners were involved in violation of the legal provisions of the Electoral Code was requested.

In addition, KAS rejected the appeal request of the Democratic Christian Alliance Party, which requested the declaration of invalidity of the elections in some voting centers of the Gjirokastër municipality.

Announcement of the CEC:

The Appeals and Sanctions Commission considered appeal request no. 82, with complainant Coalition "Bashke Fitomje" and object "1. Opposition to decision no. 292 and no. 293, dated 18.05.2023 "For the approval of the Summary Table of Results for the election of the Mayor / Municipal Council of the Municipality of Kruje, in the elections for local government bodies on May 14, 2023". 2. The invalidity of the elections held in those VCs of the Krujë Municipality electoral area where commissioners were involved contrary to the legal provisions of the Electoral Code. 3. The adjustment of the consequences by proceeding with the change of the summary table of the relevant result, not including the result of the voting centers object of appeal." 

At the end of the examination, KAS decided to reject the request.

Also, the appeal request no. 73, with the appellant Democratic Christian Alliance Party, and object "Opposition to decision no. 196, dated 18.05.2023 of KZAZ no. 80, Gjirokastra. Declaration of invalidity of elections in VC no. 4310, VC no. 4262, VC no. 4242 etc., electoral unit Gjirokastër Municipality".

At the end of the examination, KAS decided to reject the request.
