Former deputy of the Democratic Party, Lajla Përnaska, says that the work of SPAK is positive, based on the perception of citizens.
In a television interview, Përnaska said that when justice speaks, politics is silent, referring to the case of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who refused to appear in court, for the two security measures given to him.
"The perception of the public opinion about the reform in justice, about the way SPAK works is positive. For me, civic perception is important. SPAK is working, it is giving its effects, but of course it is not perfect, it needs improvement. Which of the Albanian institutions is perfect, this parliament that we saw? We do not decide this, the institutions decide this. We talk about democracy. Democracy is based on the rule of law, in the rule of law everyone is equal before the law.
When justice speaks, politics is silent. I want to see my country in the EU as soon as possible, I don't care about the next politician. Party leaders are also temporary. I am interested, as a citizen in the first place, that the right finds and uses the opportunities to reorganize. The citizen's relationship of trust with the Democratic Party has been broken," she emphasized.
