Basha: With government policies, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer

Poverty remains a painful reality for a significant part of Albania, where most of the available jobs offer low wages that do not even cover the minimum vital needs for a family, while support for agriculture does not exist in most villages.

Albania is among the countries with the highest level of inequality in the Region.

The rich are getting richer and the poor poorer.

This has led to an increase in emigration. Young people are leaving and those who remain are barely able to meet basic needs.
Albania needs an urgent plan to create conditions for young people not to leave and to transform the many assets that Albania has into opportunities for a better life for its citizens.
