After the operation carried out the night before in Tirana, where 11 arrest warrants were issued by order of SPAK, and 4 of them were executed, the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, reacted.
In an official response, Balla states that this came as a concrete result of professional investigations under the direction of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime. He also adds that the work continues to find and arrest other persons who are outside the territory of Albania.
Reaction of the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla:
Yesterday afternoon and during the night, the State Police finalized a complex operation to attack organized crime involving crimes against the person and the distribution of narcotics, a concrete result of professional investigations under the direction of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime.
I congratulate the leaders and participants of the State Police in this operation, for their high professionalism and above all for the complete security of sensitive information until the finalization of the operation that led to the arrest of all persons located in Albania. While the work continues to find and arrest other persons who are outside the territory of Albania.
I take the opportunity to thank and congratulate the prosecutors for their trust and cooperation. Exponents of organized crime, officials and former officials of the State Police, as well as other persons collaborating with them, have fallen into the net of this cooperation.
This significant operation is the consolidation of raising to another level the will of our law enforcement agencies to attack crime in its entire spectrum, in function of legal order throughout the territory.
Today, I find the opportunity to reaffirm my full belief that the strengthening of cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the common fight in the self-purification of the State Police will take Albania to another level of the rule of law.
