The Deputy of the Democratic Party, Agron Gjekmarkaj stated that Lulzim Basha never confronted Sali Berisha and the membership, after he expelled him from the party.

Gjekmarkaj said that Basha is afraid and no longer mentions Sali Berisha's name.

"I would very much like Mr. Basha and his people to return to the opposition table, either to see eye to eye with Berisha, to fight that battle that he did not fight in the last time. Mr. Basha really made a decision, but he never faced the DP membership, he never faced Sali Berisha. Even today, he has a fear, he does not say Sali Berisha's name.

He never made a battle of cultural division, if that was the word, new leader and old leader, but he became a beneficiary of Berisha's political culture and now says he is a new politician. This does not work", he emphasized on the show "Real Story" on ABC News.

Gjekmarkaj said that he does not support either Sali Berisha or Lulzim Basha. He said that he calls their desire for leadership a closed era. Present at the meeting of 43 deputies, he declared that he supports the initiative of Gazment Bardhi to gather all the opposition factors at one table.

"I think that I am still a member of the DP and I have been in the same positions for months, I am neither on the side of Mr. Berisha, nor on the side of Mr. Basha. I personally call their desire for leadership, a closed, outmoded era and their insistence to be at all costs ready on the brink of disaster for this political force. I am an MP on the DP list, I am 1 of the 63 mandates that the opposition took for 2 years and I still feel the moral obligation, although the DP is going through difficult times, it is fragmented in several groups, unfortunately, to maintain a poetic connection with the DP. sentimental and to think that more than us as a political body, PD are the people who voted for us.
