Afera “McGonigal” duket se do të tronditë nga themelet kryeministrin Edi Rama, i cili rrezikon të ketë fatin e ish-kryeministrit Sali Berisha, duke u shpallur “non-grata” nga Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës. Të premten që shkoi ish-agjenti i FBI, Charles McGonigal doli para gjykatës në Uashington, teksa pranoi fajin për dosjen e korrupsionit me zyrtarë të lartë shqiptarë, duke fundosur kështu kryeministrin Rama. Ish-agjenti i FBI në gjyq ka deklaruar se ka marrë mijëra dollarë nga një ish-agjent i inteligjencës shqiptare. Gjithashtu ai ka pranuar se krijoi miqësi me Ramën që përmendet 11 herë në dosjen e pranimit të fajit, ndërsa se mes të tjerash zbuloi se mori prej tij një licencë për shpim në fusha nafte. Madje zoti McGonigal ka pranuar se ishte ai që nxiti nisjen e hetimeve lidhur me lobimet në SHBA të Lulzim Bashës dhe akuzat se po financohej nga rusët. Por kjo çështje delikate tregon qartë se kemi të bëjmë me korrupsion dhe se pavarësisht se nuk ka hetime për kryeministrin e Shqipërisë, ky i fundit rrezikon të merret me shpulla nga amerikanët. Paralajmërimin e ka bërë aktivistja e njohur shqiptaro-amerikane, Evi Kokalari në rrjetet sociale këtë fundjavë. Zonja Kokalari theksoi se ish-zyrtari i FBI mund të jetë përdorur nga Rama kundër Bashës, për zgjedhjet e 2021-it. Sipas saj, afera “McGonigal” do të jetë bazë e fortë që Departamenti Amerikan i Shtetit të sanksionojë Ramën. “McGonigal është marrë vetëm me dosjen e Bashës, për këtë është paguar dhe këtë ka realizuar për Ramën, i cili fare mirë mund ta ketë përdorur kundër Bashës dhe në zgjedhjet e 2021! Si e tillë, klani i Berishës bën mirë të përmbahet dhe ta mbledhë veten e të artikulojë për kë opozitë bëhet fjalë. Pranimi i fajit nga McGonigal tregon qartë që Edi Rama ka korruptuar një punonjës të administratës amerikane për të luftuar kundërshtarin e tij politik, si e tillë ka cënuar në mënyrë direkte demokracinë Amerikane. Kjo është bazë mjaft e fortë që DASH mund ta përdorë për ta sanksionuar Ramën siç bëri me Berishën”, shkroi Kokalari. Pra, duke qartë se kryeministri Rama ka tentuar të korruptojë një zyrtarë të FBI, duke futur “hundët” në punët e brendshme të Shteteve të Bashkuara të Amerikës, çka lë të hapur mundësinë se kur ai të largohet nga posti i Kryeministrit, rrezikon të sanksionohet nga DASH, njëjtë siç është vepruar me ish-kryeministrin Sali Berisha, i cili akuzohet për korrupsion dhe minim të demokracisë.

By announcing Berisha as a "non-grata" person, the USA sent an important message that these decisions will be followed by other powerful acts, in Albania and the Western Balkans. As a strong supporter of justice reform, the US is giving strong signals that it is setting a red line for corrupt officials and politicians in Albania, and this should scare the entire Albanian political class, one of them being Prime Minister Edi Rama. who with the shopping and affairs he did with the former FBI agent, Charles McGonigal, has compromised the security of the USA.
