Have you severed relations with Berisha's group for DP candidates? Alibeaj surprises with the answer

Enkelejd Alibeaj held a meeting with the Presidency of the Democratic Party in the context of the local elections this afternoon. In a media conference after the meeting, Alibeaj stated that it is incompatible that Berisha's group has entered the DP candidates under the logo of another party.

He says once again that his PD is open to cooperating with Berisha's group for the local elections.

Question: Do you have a candidate for Tirana, Durrës and Elbasan?

Alibeaj: The process is ongoing. This process, as provided for in the decision of the Presidency, is a process that is based on the party statute. In one of the previous meetings, we requested the candidacy of the Primaries.

 Q: Is there a clash between you and White?

Alibeaj: It is not ambiguity. I and everyone has an obligation to respect the decisions of the Presidency. What Bardhi has said is based on our positions for the Primary candidates of the Reestablishment group, they are invited to join the PD logo. This process will continue to be discussed here at the Presidency meetings.

Question: Bardhi stated that he will not issue candidates in these 3 municipalities.

Alibeaj: It is always according to the rules of the statute that these will be decided by the Presidency. 

Question: Have you broken the bridges of cooperation with Berisha? Does this mean that appearing with two candidates in the local elections, the termination of relations?

Alibeaj: DP cannot have two candidates. There is only one candidate. Other candidates may be under the logo of other parties, in SP or PL. Secondly, to take democrats and take them to another party that does not have the color or this logo of the democrats, I believe that it is incompatible with the attitude and membership of the DP.

Are you asking me about Sali Berisha? I made it clear here a year and a half ago. It is not a personal issue, but an identity issue. DP was founded as a pro-Western party. Its relations with the USA, Britain and the EU are the DNA of this party. The report of this party is sacred. We have done our best beyond all patience to make it possible to have a candidate for the Democrats. For all citizens who are dissatisfied with Edi Rama's regime.
