Will the persons sentenced by the GJKKO benefit from a reduced sentence from the amnesty? This is how Minister Manja answers

Will the persons sentenced by the GJKKO benefit from a reduced sentence from the

The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, stated today that no person who has been convicted by the Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime will benefit from Amnesty.

In a statement to the media after the International Conference organized today on Accountability and the Fight Against Corruption, Manja said that the majority has not withdrawn from the Criminal Amnesty.

"All these days, the opposition has been talking about amnesty, and when you only listen to one side and don't listen to the other side, it seems as if the majority withdrew from the amnesty for the criminal offenses of corruption for which the GJKKO gave judgments.

I've said it at the top of the time that amnesty no, no, but no reduction of the sentence for those who have been convicted of corruption and crime organized by GJKKO".

The international conference "Strengthening Accountability: Strengthening Anti-Corruption Efforts in the Western Balkans" was held in Tirana, organized by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption in cooperation with the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC). .

The Ministers of Justice of the Western Balkans and Croatia, Heads of Anticorruption Agencies, Prosecutors and international organizations participated in the conference.

In his speech, Minister Manja said that the justice reform marked an epochal turning point for our country.

"Today we are no longer talking about a reform in the initial stages, but about a system that produces results by gradually ending impunity in Albania.

We are particularly proud that a new reputation of the institutions of the justice system is being formed in Albania.

The number of judges and prosecutors left is living proof of a justice system that could not do justice as it was caught by corruption", declared Minister Manja.
