The Judiciary Committee of the US Congress has requested information from the FBI regarding the implications for which Charles McGonigal, a former senior counterintelligence official, is being investigated.

Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, and Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Republican from Florida, wrote a letter to the FBI director requesting materials and information on McGonigal.

Republicans are also seeking a special hearing to discuss the FBI's investigation into McGonigal, including whether the bureau is undertaking any reviews to determine how Russia and its oligarchs were able to influence senior FBI officials. . Jordan and Gaetz set a deadline of February 16 for a response.

They have demanded that he turn over to the committee all personnel records relating to McGonigal; documents and communications “referring to or related to the FBI's investigative evaluation and response process” related to McGonigal; and materials related to the FBI's efforts to mitigate the national security risks posed by McGonigal's alleged actions.

A five-count indictment unsealed in federal court in New York last week accused McGonigal of working for Oleg Deripaska, a Russian aluminum magnate with ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Deripaska has been under US sanctions since 2018, and federal prosecutors allege that McGonigal and Sergey Shestakov, a former Russian diplomat turned US citizen, worked for Deripaska to investigate an unnamed rival Russian oligarch in 2021.

Dhe një rast tjetër theksohet se  Dorian Ducka ndihmoi në organizimin e një takimi mes zyrës së FBI-së në Nju Jork dhe dëshmitarëve në Evropë, duke paguar mes të tjerash për shpenzime udhëtimeve
