32 years since the bust of Enver Hoxha, Gonxhe: PD is not reliable because of the dictatorship mentality, this is how Berisha destroyed the party

The former student of December '90, now in the post of the Director of the General Directorate of Road Transport, Blendi Gonxhe was yesterday invited to a television studio, where he remembered February 20, 1991, the day when the bust of dictator Enver Hoxha fell. The bust was placed in "Skënderbej" square and was dragged through the streets of the city by thousands of citizens who revolted against the dictatorship. In fact, it also marked the end of the dictatorship in Albania. But as he remembered this important moment yesterday, Mr. Gonxhe also commented on the situation in which the Democratic Party is today. According to him, the Democratic Party is not managing to become reliable to this day, as it still has the mentality of a dictatorship. "We come to the same situation today that even to this day, PD has the kind of mentality that can do everything before the interests of the country, may even sacrifice the country's destiny for personal interests. It does not make me proud as a co-founder of DP in December, but then we had the complete opposition of DP for the removal of Enver from the university. The students insisted that the bust is not the issue, but that we could not exercise democracy under its shadow. We have a pronounced lack of trust, respect and standard importance... If we come out of that kind of darkness we should have paid attention. These standards were absent, partners came. Our allies like the USA came but in general there was a lack of a Marshall Plan of democracy in terms of standards. Many projects and financial institutions were taken over and not properly invested in standards. All these standards were missing in DP and the result was expected when some later. Some voices that were precious over the years were banished, and the DP suffered a kind of repetition, not with the behavior of a dictator but a kind of repetition of the habits of the past regime, with a mindset before the 90s. This party is not able to become reliable because of this mentality", declared Gonxhe.
