"November 28 is for Kosovo as much as it is for Albania"/ President Konjufca's message excites the deputies

The Speaker of the Parliament of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, in his speech at the joint session being held between the Assemblies of Kosovo and Albania on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of independence.

"We are with you and we have you in our hearts.

November 28 holds in our hearts our collective dreams and great love for the nation. This day has its own symbolism to keep alive our emotions, pride, readiness.

November 28 belongs to Albania as much as it belongs to Kosovo.

When we were oppressed and living under the Yugoslav terror, our people were kept alive by the love for the land, the nation and the Albanian language.

The road was long and not easy at all.

Two events have been important, the arrival of democracy in Albania and the liberation of Kosovo a few years later.

As Albanians, history has taught us that as much as we should celebrate, we should reflect. The world today is less safe than yesterday because of the war in Ukraine. The only country connected with Russia is Serbia, it fights us from inside and outside. The closer Albania and Kosovo are to each other, the easier we can protect the interests of our nation.

Happy flag day. Long live the Albanian nation", concluded Konjufca.
