Many may be surprised, but there is also a transition in the clerical and religious fields. One of these is our Orthodox community and its clergy involved in the Albanian Autocephaly which, like our country and other religions, has suffered severe blows until its annihilation through the Law for the only Atheist state in the world.. Albania for 35 years it was left without religion by the communists. From 1967 to 1992 when the functioning of churches and mosques were stopped, when the Albanian Orthodox community suffered the most severe blow since the time of the Ottoman occupation, it currently passed into the death of the Albanian autocephalous church. It must be acknowledged that the advent of democracy brought Archbishop Anastas in 1992, who revived the Albanian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and until today has worked extremely hard to improve conditions, the construction and construction of churches, the opening of kindergartens, schools and the university college, the publication of the newspaper Njjallja, the opening of canteens for the poor, the publication of two religious magazines, i.e. a real and gradual revival, just as our great Noli made him speak Albanian Christ, also Archbishop Anastas resurrected KOASH. Albanian Orthodoxy is now coming out of 'resuscitation' and is stabilizing to get out of the hospital of religious diseases. But the serious injury has had its side effects, which Archbishop Anastas has not been able to heal either because of the historical and religious ignorance of Albanians or because of the team which did not properly orient him to the Albanian spiritual-historical problems, either because of due to the pressure of Greek politics. One of the most special aspects of the Albanian Orthodoxy directed by the Albanian intellectuals and the Albanian clergy is their patriotism and contribution as citizens in the formation of the Albanian state as well as in the defense, education and culture of the country. These problems that need to be solved keep the Albanian Orthodox community divided. We have presented and suggested these in writing to Archbishop Anastas in the form of a Memoranda, but also with the fact that Albanian Orthodoxy has been and remains very patriotic, either in the creation of the Albanian state, or in the contribution to the Monastery Congress, or in the creation of the Albanian Anthem, either in the proposal of the Skanderbeg flag by the Bucharest club, or in the making of patriotic songs, or in the reconstruction of the country. So it is an orthodox religious community but also patriotic and coexists with other religions in an excellent way, and it is even one of the most cultured and educated community with the lowest level of criminality in relation to other communities and atheists. The transition may end after Archbishop Anastas if non-religious issues are also resolved. In Albania, the problem is different. Despite the fact that Archbishop Anastas revived KOASH, a KOASH that the great Noli made "to speak Christ" in Albanian since 1914 and remains the originator of Albanian Autocephaly, - the religious problem is very sensitive and exceeds the religious part. Why?
Because Greek politics (not the Greek people), has harassed and damaged Albania for 111 years so much that to this day they have not removed the law of war by massacring the population in 1914, by expelling the Chams in 1923, by expelling the Greeks of the left Greek fighters in 1945, making provocations in 1949, killing Albanian soldiers in 1993, making Greek graves in Këlcyra and Drenova, placing bilingual plaques in minority areas, entering and interfering whenever they want with ministers, prime ministers, Mayor, how many times is there a census, an election, asking for redoing the sea border, does this seem normal?
This has influenced the division of the Orthodox Community in Albania with all the excellent work of Archbishop Anastas - the doubt remains that Noli's phrase that 'the Greek fights with the church'... may be real, but no one cares about the lost sheep.
Some of the main unresolved aspects are:
-albanization of the Orthodox Church by respecting and honoring the patriotic Albanian Orthodox clergy,
- the adjustment of some articles of the KOASH, one of them is the transition from the Albanian Autocephalous Orthodox Church to the Albanian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, apparently a small mistake but in fact it is a big difference from which big debates have arisen.; and here is the evil of Greek politics, justifying that the Orthodox religion has no nationality, but in fact every state Orthodox church defines nationality as the Greek Church, the Serbian Church, the Russian Church, the Ukrainian Church. Then why should it not be as the Berat Congress decided in 1922 even after TOMOS, the Albanian Autocephalous Orthodox Church?
- the acceptance of the Memoranda of Orthodox Intellectuals for the placement in the Orthodox Calendar of Albanian clerics who led KOASH from 1922 to 1967, AS well as other patriotic clerics, just like what every other country has done.
-Removing the phrase during the daily mass; "bless the orthodox state"!!, Albania is a secular state, then who remains an orthodox state that the Albanian mass blesses??
- the arrangement of contradictions within the church which have alienated or brought together different clerical people who need to be re-evaluated. In conclusion, I can say that the establishment of an Albanian Archbishop in the future would unite the divided Orthodox Albanian community (and not of Albania), would realize the Memoranda of Orthodox Intellectuals, and would avoid foreign influences on KOASH.
