Politics flooded by rain!
Written by Bardhyl Bejko 24 Nëntor 2022
After we kept our eyes on the sky waiting for the missing rain for six months, the third ten days of November started with heavy rains, which flooded the Drin cascade with a flow of over 4000 cubic meters per second. Everyone felt relieved. The citizens who were threatened by exceeding the band of 800 K, beyond which the price would be salty for the wallets of a considerable layer of energy consumers, felt more relaxed. The Minister of Finance, Delina Brahimaj, breathed a sigh of relief, whose state portfolio was rapidly being emptied by the tenfold increase in electricity prices in the foreign market, where we were forced to buy to avoid national collapse. KESH and OSHEE also felt freed from the nightmares of emptying the catchment basins. The only ones who felt offended were the tour operators, hoteliers and late-autumn tourists until the end of the second ten days of November enjoyed the sea and the sand, baking in the sun that burned as if it were mid-August. Yes, the rain didn't stay on the clouds and poured torrentially on the earth, cracked and dry as if it were a reed. The heavy rains were accompanied by flooding for almost a periodic cycle in our country, where unfortunately a significant part of the areas of Lower Shkodra, as well as in Lezhë, Durrës, Fushë Krujë and deep areas were covered by water. Vast cultivated areas were covered by water and silt, turning into lakes, under which living things, plants, and even the inhabitants on the second floors of the houses were threatened by the floods and life was almost stuck under water. In addition to numerous disasters and material damages in agriculture and livestock, there was also the tragic loss of life of a family. father and son, a loss that caused deep pain and regret for the tragedy that happened, regardless of where it happened after a wound on the body of Albania, causes pain to everyone. After the floods from heavy rains, it was the turn of politics. Engines were fired, searchlights illuminated the gray atmosphere, propaganda sirens began to wail, and political radars were activated to present the situation on the one hand as apocalyptic, unusual, as a national calamity caused by irresponsibility and lack of management by the state and first the government, which was targeted by the opposition. The screens were flooded more than Under Shkodra or the neighborhood in the Durrës swamp with bombastic news, accusing the government of creating the flood by opening the discharge gates of the hydropower reservoirs. The government defended itself with the comparison of previous years, referring to Berisha's statements. Since the nineties, the areas around Shkodra have been flooded, unfortunately cyclically, which has caused incalculable damage to the economy of the residents of these areas. Now, this disaster has become common and a ritual that is repeated every time torrential rains fall. The apocalyptic scenes of successive years have been memorized by every Albanian and mostly by those who have actually experienced these tragedies, which are indeed natural effects, but also created by the irresponsible hand of man, not keeping the irrigation canals under control and those draining even worse from indiscriminate constructions, where it is certain to be flooded by rainfall and the flow of our raging rivers. Not to balance, nor to show at which time the floods have been more tragic, but to underline a fact that lessons must be learned for radical changes and deep reforms for the sewerage network, for drainage to keep hydrophores in readiness, the construction of embankments, ambushes mountain and keeping the emergency equipment at the right height and preparing the forces for radical interventions to deal with floods must give up propaganda and political noise and in the first place the leaders of yesterday's power today in the opposition, but also those who govern today . Natural disasters are not faced with battles of debates and statements, much less with slander and intrigue or accusations as if those who are in government today deliberately want to suffocate the people and sink the economy, destroy citizens' homes and damage livestock, to bankrupt the farmers with everything they have. This is short-sighted, tendentious politics and has within it malice and thirst for political gain, the destruction of the political opponent. If you listen to Berisha and Ilir Meta, the commanding chairman Alibeaj or any of the MPs who have put on their boots and thrown their military cloaks over their shoulders, you are faced with surprises and shocked by the untruths that roar from the screens as if the government is suffocating its own people. . That's how far the propaganda reaches that Prime Minister Rama was to blame for the misfortune of the family that was taken by the stream. This is really the height of making the government guilty that the current of water took over a vehicle with a family inside. This is to do politics with death, which is an old ritual and trick among us. Yes, the politics of these days is really entering the water! Wherever there are MPs, ministers and the prime minister or the chairman of "Re-establishment", Sali Berisha or the PL, Ilir Meta, overflow more than the waters that come down from the mountains through rapid rivers, there are jewels that shock the psyche and kill the conscience. to all who hear them. How is it possible that yesterday's former governors, who found themselves in these circumstances when they were in power, are cheering from the corners of bridges, car windows or gravel pits that the government was drowned, that a state of emergency is urgently needed! And here, the leaders talk as if the rain taps are commanded by the prime minister and if the government wants, Albania will not be flooded. Didn't these floods happen several times more severe during the time when he was in power, Illyria with Sali? Of course, they happened and all these rulers justified themselves that these are works of God, are superhuman disasters, that floods are the result of rains that have not happened for years. This has been the philosophy to get out without getting wet, even though in the water, without talking about the non-compensation of material damages repeated year after year from the north to the south of Albania. These days, Albanian citizens are under many floods. What is the effect of floods from torrential rains, a phenomenon that happens, not only in us, but everywhere, it is also the apocalyptic flood from political propaganda, which aims to get the most out of the floods and the damage created. The flood from the torrents of politics is in geometric progression compared to the floods from raging rivers. Even this is really a flood in the gigantic flow of accusations, slander, slander, battle for benefits from natural disasters. As the government, which has the burden of saving the citizens and protecting the economy from flood damage, through radical measures and the mobilization of all the resources it possesses, the populist propaganda of the accusers is the politics flooded by the rain. The whole politics seems like rain drums are rumbling from everywhere. It is politics and our politicians who do politics under the rain and of course the whole politics that feeds the appetite for power and is not in the interest of solving the concerns of the people, politics that divides and does not unite, demoralizes and does not inspire hope and does not mobilize, it is the politics of self-absorbed politicians in the vortex of propaganda! However, Albanian institutions must do the calculations well so that the phenomenon of floods has an end. And this requires long-term plans and programs. It requires commitment and funding. The very politicians of politics under the downpours have entered the water, have risen in the swamp of deception and endless accusations.
