Albanian politics, relationship like the bride with the mother-in-law
Written by Vangjel Sako 8 Tetor 2021
Complications in the bride-mother-in-law relationship are not just "Made in Albania". They are international. This is strange when you think of transformation into roles. Those who are brides today will be in the role of mother-in-law tomorrow and again the relationship is always contradictory. And the accusations are mutual. Brides accuse the husband's mother while the latter does the opposite. But even when the bride becomes herself in the other role again she accuses what her son has chosen to spend her life, zeroing in on the years when she has been herself. I am convinced that an exact parallelism is this relationship with that of today's Albanian politics. Taking into account the two main political forces, SP and PD, which in these 30 years of the so-called democracy once were "bride" and once "mother-in-law" easily notices that for almost the same situations at different times they do not bring anything new in evaluation or judgment, but make a copy paste ”what the other force has done to it, in different roles. Without making it more enigmatic, they take as an example only the debt that no government has been allocated when it was in office, and even every year it comes and deepens. When the SP is in power and the numbers increase, the DP does not leave anything unsaid and it is not enough just to point out the figures but also to deepen the criticism of the government and at the same time does not forget to promise that as long as it comes to power, it will decrease . The SP does nothing more when the DP is in power, just a clear copy of what it heard when it was in power. It does not happen that both parties lack the intellectual potentials in the economic field that know how to provide solutions to this problem, but that both parties pursue the same policies and that aim only at enriching a group of oligarchs and leaving aside the real state of life. of the people. Science has not yet found the cause of the extremely difficult bride-father-in-law relationship, they are born or newly created during life, but it is certain that it has already taken the form of an anecdote. A father-in-law went to his daughter a few days and was satisfied. It showed that the groom had gold. He did all the shopping for his daughter, he had learned to cook and even to iron. After a few days he went to his son and there he saw the "earthquake" that as he showed, the bride took his son's soul. He took her shopping, to take the children to school and had also started teaching them cooking. So for the same situations, different judgments. As it happens in Albanian politics. While one political force is in opposition, the "sheet" filled with accusations of the majority does not end. Galloping corruption scandals are made public for almost every department and their leaders, and they appear in the media almost every day. It is important to note here that immediately after them the promise is given that once this political force comes to power, it will make a name for itself by punishing the guilty. But as soon as the reins of power are taken, everything is forgotten and the game starts differently, those who were in the majority start accusing those who took power and do not forget to promise that "when they come back to power, they will show the country to the malevolent". These ruling parties have changed three or four times, but the punishment for corruption has been zero. Unfortunately, the progress of democracy after the '90s in our country has been associated with many loss of life not only of ordinary citizens, but also with well-known political figures and it is enough to remember here only Sokol Olldashi and Fatmir Xhindi. In the two most prominent cases, both the "bride" and the political "mother-in-law" have not shut their mouths, making not only public accusations, but also the promise that in the first case of taking power these events will be uncovered. So many years have passed, PS and PD have come and gone from power but I do not know that these events have been uncovered. Not that it's hard, but that there was a lack of perseverance to get them to the end, although in close quarters the causes and actors of these killings are known. Or let them take two of the most serious murders of the century, that of Azem Hajdari and of the 4 protesters on the boulevard "Dëshmorët e Kombit". In the first case, the Democratic Party, which was in opposition at the time, and in the second case, the Socialist Party, which was also not in power when the incident took place, vowed that once they are in the majority, they will whitewash them and bring justice to place. Both parties came and went from power, but the promises were not kept and the events were not fully clarified but partially. Sometimes in the role of the bride and sometimes in the role of the mother-in-law, both Albanian political forces maintain a position with a very vital situation for the population, such as the increase of prices. You have seen especially the leaders of the opposition parties who remained at the doors of the shops looking closely at the notebooks of debts that many citizens owe to the sellers and amid the grief as if they have those debts themselves, they promise that when they come to power they will be torn notebook. Realistically those notebooks not that have not been torn, but have been made in pairs and added every day. Because in practice, whoever the political force is in the direction, the prices in our country only increase, never decrease. Or take parliamentary life as an example. Laws that go for approval must receive a majority vote to enter into force. They are obviously presented by the majority. But there have been cases for special laws that the opposition has presented its version. Please tell me a single case even when the SP was in the majority, but also when the DP was in such a role that the proposal of the opposition was taken into account and the variant presented by it was approved. In no case. Do you think that only the majority has the right of smart and professional individuals while the truth is that both political forces have sufficient intellectual capacities to respond to the situations of the time. When we talk about difficult bride-in-law relationships we do not undertake to say that this happens entirely, but in most cases. I know like you many cases when the bride-in-law is needed as sisters and they know the necessity of each other. Only in the relations "bride" - "father-in-law" in Albanian politics there is no peace, there is no sincere love with each other even when it comes to important national issues. As a matter of fact, we are remembering the distant history of the commissioners of the Fier region or the efforts of recent years to meet the conditions that Europe is adding day by day to accept us and the opposition instead of helping to meet them. , makes it impossible to convince his friends in Europe that the conditions have not yet been met. There have been cases that are counted with the fingers of one hand when "bride" "father-in-law" in Albanian politics are "kissed", but with deceit and according to personal interests where former President Berisha stands out in these cases. The struggle for power is obviously not a ceasefire, but there are national issues that both the opposition and the majority should speak the same language and not as in the "bride" - "father-in-law" relationship.
