Teaching is not just a profession, but a mission

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to talk with a young man who had graduated from the "Eqrem Çabej" University of Gjirokastra in recent years.

- Teacher?! Me, a teacher?! Never ever! Crack your head with reeds! The salary that I would have received for the whole month as a teacher, today I received as an electrician for a week!... I listened to him patiently and felt sorry for him to slander the teachers. And, naturally, the thought sent me to all those teachers who melted like a candle to teach children the beautiful Albanian language. And, further, you feel bad when you learn that many eyes do not want to follow the faculty of teaching!!!

Dear readers of "SOT" newspaper, I am informing about the sacrifices of three of the teachers from Lushnjara, who served wherever they were sent on duty.

HARUN SEFA was born in Lushnje in 1902. He received his first lessons in his hometown, while he completed his secondary studies at the Elbasan Normal School during the years 1923 - 1927. Found in the office of the Minister of Education at the time, to whom he showed a for a complete set of clothes as a teacher, the boy from Lušnja also received the title: teacher in the comprehensive school of Fier. Some time later, when he had the opportunity to give his opinion on the educational reform, (which required the reduction of lessons from 6 grades to 5 grades) Harun objected: I do not agree, he expressed. But it cost him well: he was immediately sent from the city to the village , at Bubullima school. He was not comfortable here either. He opened his mouth again. He came out openly against the content of the program and textbooks, which spoke more about Italy than about Albania (!), so within a year he was moved from this school again. Lushnjar teacher was not only a teacher, but also an active patriot. As the well-known intellectual Petraq Dhana writes in his book "Education and culture in Myzeqe (1912 - 1990)", Harun Sefa could not stay away when he learned that many of his colleagues were involved in the Fier Uprising of 1935. With the defeat of this uprising, this teacher was persecuted by the Government of the time, leaving him out of education for some time. During the glorious epic of liberation, Harun's family became closely associated with the anti-fascist movement. His house has been declared the Base of LANÇ. After the liberation of the Motherland, apart from being a distinguished teacher, Harun Sefa was also an outstanding social activist. Of course, it didn't matter after the lek. He understood teaching not as a profession, but as a mission. The former Presidium of the People's Assembly awarded several decorations to Harun Sefa. In 1994 he was awarded the highest title: Teacher of the People.

LIRI KAZAZI was born in 1931 in Kavajë in a well-known citizen family and very fond of education.

ABC – në dhe mësimet e para i mori në vendlindje. Në rininë e vet kreu edhe arsimin e mesëm. Tepër e pasionuar mbas mësuesisë. I thanë në familje edhe për ndonjë punë tjetër, por... jo: mësuese dëshiroj të shërbej, qe shprehur në shtëpinë e vet. Në vitet pesëdhjetë u emërua mësuese në Lushnje, duke u caktuar të jepte mësim në shkollën shtatëvjeçare “Kongresi i Lushnjes”. Ndryshe nga mjaft prej kolegeve të veta, ajo ishte një metodiste e shkëlqyer. Natyrshëm hynte në bashkëbisedim me nxënësit deri edhe me sy, me gjeste dhe me fjalën e saj të ngrohtë. Kontribut të veçantë ajo dha sidomos gjatë riorganizimit të shkollës tetëvjeçare. Vëzhguese e hollë, ajo ishte edhe një studiuese e vëmendshme. Në të gjitha shkollat e qytetit drejtonte veprimtarinë metodike, duke ndihmuar në rritjen e cilësisë mësimore. Liri Kazazi ka kontribuar edhe në Shtëpinë e Pionierit, ku ajo drejtonte rrethin letrar të nxënësve. Aty punonte parreshtur për t’u ngjallur dashurinë për librin, si dhe nxiste veprimtarinë krijuese të të vegjëlve. Sigurisht, pa ndonjë shpërblim financiar. Sepse mësuesinë ajo e kuptonte jo thjesht profesion, por mision. Liria doli në pension në vitin 1986. Megjithatë, ajo sërish mbeti deri në fund mësuese. Mësuese me fjalën e saj plot edukatë, mësuese me sjelljen e saj gjithë kulturë. Në vitin 1994 asaj iu dha tiulli më i lartë: Mësuese e Popullit. U nda nga jeta në vitin 1995, në moshën 64 vjeçare, duke lënë mbas një emër shumë të nderuar. Njërës shkollë në qytetin e Lushnjes i është vënë emri “Liri Kazazi”.

GJERGJI KOÇI ka mbetur bir i nderuar i fshatit Bubullimë, lindur në vitin 1908. Shkollën fillore e kreu në vendlindje, atë plotore e mbaroi në Lushnje, ndërsa Normalen e kreu në Elbasan. Kur i qe paraqitur ministrit të Arsimit në zyrë, ky i pat thënë menjëherë:

- Djalosh, nevoja e kërkon të shkoni për të shërbyer në fshatin Lazarat. E dini se ku bie Lazarati?

– Edhe në qoftë se nuk e di, do ta mësoj, zoti ministër, - i qe përgjigjur Gjergji.

The young teacher went and served only two years in Lazarat, because in 1933 he was sent as a teacher to the city of Delvina. And he served here for 13 years. Here he was recognized as one of the best teachers of that time in this city. In an inspection act carried out by the Ministry of Education, it is noted: "Teacher Gjergji Koçi has high scientific and pedagogical training, as well as very good professional skills. All students of this teacher are fully knowledgeable. All the requirements for the school have been fulfilled here". Aligned with the anti-fascists during the years of the war against the invaders, Gjergj Koçi was pursued by the fascists and the Nazis, of course without being able to arrest him. Because after the lesson, the boy from Bubullima was found among the illegals, contributing to sending the youth to the partisan formations. After the liberation, he was appointed a teacher in Rrapëz, a teacher in Kolonje, a teacher in Bubullimë, director of the seven-year school in Kolonje. Everywhere exemplary. Inspiring, organizing, mobilizing. He passed away in 1987. The former Presidium of the People's Assembly awarded him several decorations. Like many others, Gjergji Koçi considered teaching not a profession, but a mission.
