Lorenc Vangjeli: One more trouble in Duman's lap! This is the move that

Chances are that it may happen this week, on the contrary, it is certain that it will happen in the first week of the next electoral campaign: Sali Berisha will break the measure of house arrest!

Perhaps one of these days Berisha will enter the elevator of his house by pressing the zero button. He will go down to the lobby of the first floor of his apartment and with the deputies of his parliamentary group as a human escort, he will describe several hundred meters towards the assembly hall. His militants, but also many tiranas and curious tourists, will accompany him on this epic journey, followed from afar by confused policemen who neither know what to do nor have much opportunity to do anything.

This is a chess move. Political masters know how to calculate and predict several moves in a row. All the more so since this is a game played by more than two "partners", who will most likely put a third player, far from the political chessboard, Altin Dumanin, in a difficult position.

With this movement, Berisha intends to enter the hall and once again set the clepsydra of his parliamentary time: "I was absent from the parliament, but not because of my will!". If the door of the hall is barricaded with guards, then there will be a fight, and in all probability the court of parliament will see scenes bordering on the grotesque. This attempt will be one of the legal weapons that will be used in a possible process of removing Berisha's mandate as a deputy; one more testimony that he has made every possible effort to respect his obligation not to be absent for more than six months in the Assembly. If Berisha crosses the threshold of the hall, then he has surely won a battle of courage and of course he has guaranteed the mandate. With such an act, Berisha will aim to use the only card that politicians must play to succeed, sacrifice. Sacrifice and victimization are the extremes that Berisha combines in one to have a moral victory in a long series of electoral defeats.

The other player in front of him is Prime Minister Rama. Still confused and without a clear decision on what he will have to do with Berisha's mandate, Rama is likely to see this act as his own solution to a common problem. Time cannot freeze because only frozen time at this moment is the ideal position in which he would like to see Berisha. If he initiates the meeting of the commission of mandates and removes Berisha from the parliament, he turns him into a victim. If he does the opposite, he is ready to be accused of secretly "collaborating" with the already sealed enemy. And above all, that "he is an autocrat who puts himself above the law!".

If Berisha is forcibly prevented from entering the hall - it is unclear on what legal basis the guard would have to act - then a much hotter hearth of fire is lit than the anti-Veliaj baby molotovs. If the guard will not be "in a position" to prevent Berisha from entering the hall, then the game changes and Rama has in hand the formal solution to a problem that few had foreseen before. Much less Berisha himself, burned by his naive bluff game with justice, last winter.

The third player in the game is not sitting at the table with the first. Altin Dumani and SPAK itself will have an increased headache in such a case. Berisha's departure from the apartment where he is under house arrest is reason enough for a stricter security measure to be imposed on him. The same as it happened the first time when the refusal of the obligation to present and hand over the passport, aggravated his status in relation to the investigation of the "Partizani" file. Berisha's age does not allow him to be arrested in prison, even though he himself would give anything in exchange for a day in a cell. It is totally unclear what will happen next, except that the hot potato that requires a lap to be dropped is not at all legal, but an act of political bona fides.

The vagaries of fate are incredible. The man who has found the key to success in politics in his self-sacrifice and, moreover, in the sacrifice of everything else that hindered him on the way to power, will try to play the last card in the game by being victimized and self-sacrificing. "I am against America and Britain, Soros and McGonigal, traffickers from all over the world and local thieves, but I will still win," says Berisha, convinced that his case is not an exception to the rule that sees the weight of an individual in politics, equal to the sum of his enemies. In the end, Albanians like everyone else, even though they choose to be the strongest, see the victim with sympathy. This is the calculation that Rama and Berisha make separately to each other, waiting for Altin Dumani to pay her bill in the end.

If this scenario is not verified within a few days, it is certain that this will happen after a few months, when Albania will go to the parliamentary elections, in which, a whim of fate, will bring a spectacular reversal of fortunes. human in Tirana. Of those that should normally only be invented by fantasy and literature, but which unfortunately are the reality of the Albanian hybrid democracy. Exactly 28 years ago, Sali Berisha forced Fatos Nano to do the 1996 campaign from a few square meters of the cell in Bênca prison, tomorrow in 2025, he himself will enter the campaign as a prisoner of SPAK in the salon of Mrs. Liri.
