Ethics and the degradation of speech culture
Written by Kastriot Aliaj 11 Gusht 2022
Speaking culture, as an important element in communication between people, is rooted from a young age, becoming a part of lifelong education. Regarding this phenomenon, each person must form an ideal image, with which he nurtures the desire to communicate culturally. But unfortunately in the ways of communication, we often encounter serious violations of ethics to the point of banality, which express the degradation of the culture of speech. Even worse when this phenomenon is demonstrated in the legislative institution of the parliament, as well as in the communications of guests and moderators in opinion shows. As an unstoppable process, it is related to informing the achievements of our people in production, social and mental development. It is distinguished by the creative character and symbolism of the conception of the world, since the beginning of the hominization process. According to historical data and those transmitted from generation to generation, meetings and later assemblies have existed even in the earliest times. In these meetings, where men participated, it was discussed to solve important issues of the province, of the village. or even of their tribe, they spoke calmly and wisely there, without insulting or denigrating anyone as is happening in our institutions and media, because the elderly never raised their voices. If someone did not agree with the opinion of the elder or the chief, he intervened with great tact and finesse, suggesting but also respecting the proverb, in order to make a decision as mature as possible. The most mentioned in our history are a series of assemblies, where we would single out the Historical Assembly of Lezha, the assemblies of Mirdita, Dukagjin, Dibra, Labëria and even the one of Mashkullore maple, which is also generalized in folk songs. The system we left behind causes great frustration among Albanians, which did not pass without trauma in the way of speaking and dialogue. After the collapse of the system, post-traumatic stress syndrome appeared, which has accompanied us to this day. The raising of tones in institutional communications, or even in the media by criminalists called "analysts", are increasingly expressing the departure from the proverbial word, as an inherited talent of our people. In these discourses of theirs, there is no lack of banal words, labeling of various types without criteria, which speak of spiritual impoverishment, lack of democratic culture, leading us to extreme departures like in the frozen Siberian lands. The unstoppable trend of public debates with violations of speech ethics, is increasingly promoting the degradation of free speech, but also the disrespect of invited persons, as happens in the social show "see you in court". In the legislative assembly, such as the parliament, it often goes away from the topic being discussed, giving priority to personal problems as well as those without coherence. Albanians cannot forget the negative examples of communications in the Assembly hall between the position and the opposition, where the former leader Xuzepina Topalli addressed the guards with the expressions, which became a hit saying: "Catch him by the collar and take him out". But worse than that were the insulting and threatening words of Sali Berisha, who, doing his best, addressed his opponents with the expression: "I am Sali Berisha, you fools". But the former also swam in these waters, the president Ilir Meta, screaming from the top of the presidency, declared: "There is no mother man who arrests me". This "verbal diary", unchecked and put on the scale of how much it kills citizens, entered the symptoms of psychiatric and neurological disorders. These expressions did not come from the people, but from the bipolars of our society who have governed this country, demonstrating emotional exaltation and mental deviation. This degradation of speech in the ranks of the political class and media workers has taken on disturbing proportions after the overthrow of the system, when the opposite should have happened. This has happened for the reason that we happened to be in discord, from which every previous attitude was imposed and a product of mechanical awareness. Free speech without ethics knows no bounds, so much so that people coming from a frozen age, they plunged into its space without control, losing the coherence of the logic of thought. This political class, mediatized according to interests, is suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome, speaking more backwards than by example. This way of speaking, as the people rightly call "oral excrement", is becoming more and more a collective disease every day. This disease also appeared on the opening day of the negotiations, when a group of opposition MPs burst out with derogatory and discriminatory language towards the problem. This shocking attitude, applauding the political discourse of arrogance, once again shows the lack of seriousness about the major and vital problems of the country. Where is the code of ethics here? What attitude can this be considered? Because there was also a deputy like Besnik Mustafaj, who screamed that the negotiations have not been opened, it is a fraud of the prime minister. These thoughts and expressions with this language were an offensive wrong start for the country's challenges. The negotiations were not opened for the political parties, but for the long-suffering Albanian people, who have been living for centuries in Europe but remained outside the doors of the EU.
