Doctor Berisha, stronger than you triumphed, where will you go next?
Written by Bardhyl Bejko 17 Maj 2023
Sali Berisha, as after every election loss, blames the gangs. Arrows the narco-state. Everything he suffers is the fault of others. According to him, the phalanxes of crime were mobilized. Voters were intimidated. Edi Rama is to blame for this electoral farce. Every time he opens his mouth and comments, he never admits that the Albanian citizens punished him severely, even more than in 1996, when at the head of power, the state slipped and crumbled. The constitutional order fell. His army was dissolved. The law-enforcement bodies were stunned and stopped acting. And yet it did not reach these shameful quotas. After the unexpected and incomparable result in the May 14 elections, Berisha and his co-coalitionist, Ilir Meta, had their pants down. They won with 11,000 votes plus their cousins. Spahia in Shkodër from SP and Benet Beci emerged victorious. The result in Tirana, where Erion Velia left behind the candidate Këlliçi with over fifty thousand votes, as well as the victory in 54 municipalities out of 61 in total and the "We win together" coalition was left with seven percent and it shrunk even more in the popular vote, he dares to appear in front of the screens and address the Albanians as if he were a triumphant and a party to the great losers. In reality, this is the worst perception and the deepest misfortune than the loss of the co-coalitionist, who wash their mouths with slogans that do not accept the results. Even the most famous militants of Berisha in these three decades have completely torn up his portrait because they feel really humiliated. We are not talking here about the causes of this shameful loss. Nor do we do in-depth analysis. It is the duty of the leadership of PL and "Re-establishment" to analyze this to the core and detail by detail, since they are the ones and only those who, with their incomparable megalomania, fed vain hopes to the supporters, especially since they did this as anti-Americanism and as battle against the ambassador, Yuri Kim, whom they targeted, just like the government officials in front of them, whom, of course, they have a target to defeat. Yes, the results on May 14 are an extraordinary signal. Not only for the losers but also for the winners. In great contrast with Berisha after the overall victory as if they had no one in front of them, but similar to 2019 when the opposition violently abandoned the election process, The Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Socialist Party came out at the end at the press conference after the results were confirmed before the Albanian citizens with thanks for the absolute support and trust. At no time did he allow himself to be shown even an iota as a triumphant, as a savior, as the winner, who climbed to the top of the Himalayas. Imagine for a moment that this victory would have been on the side of Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta, to what height the fireworks would have reached, and there would not be a television screen and a drum left unbroken. And they would be right that in the end the victories are joy and encouragement, they are the reward of the work you have done over the years. It didn't happen like that at all. Edi Rama spoke humbly, warning that even after the great victory, he has the obligation to remain modest and that no one should get excited that, in the end, power equals responsibility. From what Edi Rama declared, there is no citizen of this country who does not understand that Rama has an extraordinary burden on his shoulders to return to services and well-being, to all those who voted for him and those who did not vote for him. This behavior is accountability. Not behaving like a triumphant is equal to emancipation and democracy, it is honesty and humility towards those who vote for you and an obligation to respond with continuous work wherever Albanians live, in every square kilometer of this country. Never after every victory has Edi Rama come out and make the winner. On the contrary, it has shown restraint and civility. Winning Shkodra after thirty years of pluralism with fantastic indicators and not showing any emotion. Maintaining modesty and understanding this as a responsibility means that even victory must be seen from real perspectives. With extreme responsibility. He really wins. Yes, you should not disappoint anyone. That the years pass quickly and triumphantly today, tomorrow the people will bring you to the shore of evil. Precisely because he confuses these reports and to present the defeat as a victory, Berisha declares that he will stand with stoicism and confront the drug traffickers who stole his victory with force. But after the figures that all Albanians, in every corner of Albania, all those who listen to the leader say: -More than you stayed in the election battle of May 14, how can you stay and don't ask if you will do a more heroic act for convert from loser to winner?! The others do not matter, because in the end perception is, like loss and victory, of course with different vectors, one elevates you, the other humiliates you. I believe Berisha and Meta know what vector they will move on from May 14 onwards!
