The association, a handicap for Kosovar politics

After the sensational issue of the barricades in the north of Kosovo, the next problem that has set politics in chaotic motion is the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority. The Government of Kosovo opposes the creation of this association, despite the fact that a part of the opposition is in favor of its creation, based on the agreement of 2015. But Serbia, which insists so much on this agreement, which has no international character, does not has ratified it in its Assembly. There have been days that numerous discussions have taken the form of parallel consensuses, with a pronounced discrepancy, between representatives of Kosovar and international politics. In continuation of this debate, the representative of the USA Jeff Hovenier, in the last meeting with the politicians of Kosovo, has stated that his country does not support any agreement that violates the constitution of Kosovo. This statement is related to the fact that Serbia, creating an association only for the Serbian ethnicity, without changing its stoic attitude, of diabolical policies for centuries towards the Albanian factor, seeks to model within Kosovo, an ethnicity with the similarity of the "Republika Srbska" in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With these hypocrisies, Serbia wants to kill two birds, on the one hand it denies Kosovo's citizenship, while on the other hand it insists on creating a new ethnic group to represent Kosovo as a state. But the creation of this one-ethnic Association, recognizing the Serbian majority, deprives the rights of other minorities, not only in the north of Kosovo but throughout its space, which should feel like equal citizens, regardless of ethnicity, race , or religious belief. But Serbia not respecting the interventions of the international factor, has overcome the pending issues, where above all is the much-discussed issue, the non-recognition of the state of Kosovo. This issue is attached to the painful past of Kosovo, caused by Serbian politics, which has never known change, due to the hatred it has nurtured for centuries against Albanians. But in Kosovo there is no internal unity, but there are diametrically opposite attitudes, which express a lack of responsibility, at this historical moment for it. Regarding this major problem for Kosovo, American President Joe Biden has stated that the normalization of relations should happen through agreements, which are based on mutual recognition. It is a big mistake, suggests the president, in the political and public discourse, to remove mutual recognition and place the Association in the foreground. But the merchants of opposing policies in Belgrade, taking advantage of the tolerant attitudes of the EU, have the courage to set conditions, insisting that Kosovo not only not be recognized as a state, but that the path to UN membership is not opened. However, Kosovo does not have to worry about Belgrade's constant brawls, because it is lucky to have the support of its strategic allies, the US-EU. Its policy must prove that it is part of the international consensus, which will lead to the resolution of disputes with Serbia, until its unconditional recognition as an independent state. The current leaders of Kosovo must give up their principles in order to base political and state decision-making on external and internal factors, leaving no room for Serbia, from being an aggressor in BP, to assume the role of a peaceful state. , that has never been in the region. For Kosovar leaders and politics, the creation of the Association of Serbian municipalities is a test of fire that endangers the foundations of the state. The opposition to the establishment of the Association of Serbian municipalities should attract the attention of the public mass of Kosovar politics, to accept the solution offered by international politics. Therefore, these leaders, together with politics, must necessarily be based on the Franco-German project, in order to find the desired solution. For the Kurti government, international diplomacy has expressed that it wants a sovereign country with equal rights for all citizens without ethnic privileges. Kosovo's pledge to the international community to accept the Association does not violate its constitution, nor its sovereignty, independence and institutions. The practice of other countries with very ethnic populations, applying the legislation and legal norms of the state, is a guide for Kosovo as well. Due to its very ethnic composition, while providing you with all the rights, it will not allow Serbia to undermine its sovereignty, but to accept the reality of coexistence with other ethnicities.
