Academy of Sciences, in lethargic sleep
Written by Nga Dr. Elton Demollari 25 Nëntor 2023
These days, the Summit of the Albanian Diaspora is taking place in our Tirana. A very valuable activity in historical and national terms, in this 111th anniversary of Albania's independence. But this attention should not be once a year on the part of the native Albanian state, because otherwise it loses its true value. But it should be throughout the year, because they have been, are and will be the most vital part of Albanians, with whom we have boasted and will always continue to boast in the future. Based on this context, while reading on social networks, I was very impressed by some valuable information about an old language, which had its origin from the Albanian / Illyrian language. This language was called Arvareshu and was spoken on the Italian island of Sardinia, where it has been proven before that the population of this region was of ancient Albanian origin. It was the first time I heard such information. I was surprised at first, because I had not read anything about this language. The Arvaros or "Ilienses barbaricini" were the first barbarians of today's Sardinia. With this word they were labeled by the ancient Romans. The Arvareshu language, according to foreign linguists and researchers who have researched this language, was a pre-Latin Sardinian language of old Illyrian origin (Shardane) and was spoken from the Nuragic period of Sardinia to the Byzantine imperial periods, and this is also proven by the Byzantine historian Stefan Bizantini, a highly reliable historian who has documented the Illyrian origin of the inhabitants of this region. He even states in his work that "Sardos, oos Parthos, polis Illyrias, oi politai Sard?noi" (Sardos, like Parthos, is a city of Illyria, its citizens are called Sardenoi") this meant that this was the group largest ethnic phonetically close to that of Shardana, a dialect. He also talks about Sharda (Sarda), a very old medieval city, which was located in the area of ??Shkodra. The old tribes of this territory were called Sardeates and belonged to the Gege dialect group. Also the Parthos and the Parthini tribe were located in central Albania, precisely in Elbasan and along the Shkumbin river. Another well-known historical personality, who has spoken about the Illyrian origin of the population of Sardinia, is Herodotus "the father of history", who in paragraph 94 of the first chapter of his famous book "Historiae" talks about the emigration of the Tyrrhenians , of the Thracian and Phrygian people, then for the landing of the Balkans and Anatolians in Sardinia and Tuscany. The Shardan and Nuragic tribes came to life in Sardinia. While in Tuscany, the Etruscan people came to life, and for this reason, the Illyrian origin has been confirmed by almost all historians. According to these historians, this old speech has really been forgotten today, however it is still preserved in some paraphrases of today's Sardinian language, especially in the area of ??Barbagja, an area, located in the center of Sardinia. Foreign scientists (I emphasize it, foreign scientists) have pointed out that the only language that could decipher this rare Proto-Sardinian Illyrian language is today's Albanian language. So our language, which is the source of many Indo-European languages. Also, the well-known professor Alberto Areddu in his work "Albanian origin of civilization in Sardinia" has strongly supported the approach of the original Illyrian language with the civilization of Sardinia. He even emphasized that the ancient Illyrian Arvareshu language of Sardinia was the basis of the creation of the modern Neo-Latin nation of modern Sardinia and that it received a "linguistic impact" from Latin, the Catalan and Spanish languages. So, as usually happens, this language was Latinized, when the Roman Catholic Church was completely separated from the Eastern Orthodox Church in the famous Great Schism (Great Schism) between East and West on July 16, 1054. The one that falls in eye today, it is the fact that the costumes of the Sardinians have a great similarity with the Albanian folk costumes, with the costumes of the Arvanites of Greece and with the Phrygian costumes of the Aegean. Or the other, that Sardinian polyphonic songs are similar to the polyphonic songs of the Labëria area. I don't want to dwell more on this issue, because I want to leave it to the salaried linguists and historians of our Academy of Sciences, which is only sleeping and has fallen into a lethargic sleep. Who should take care of the renewal and elevation to the pedestal of the old Albanian language and culture? Shouldn't we always expect foreign historians to highlight the old Albanian language and its writing? Shouldn't we always wait for foreign historians and linguists to prove that the Albanian language is the mother of the Indo-European languages? Shouldn't we always wait for foreign historians and linguists to prove to us that archaic languages ??and dialects existed and still exist, which can only be deciphered with today's Albanian language? Wake up, my Albanian science. Too many vegetables, my Academy of Sciences, how moldy all your chairs are getting. Don't turn into a parasite, but give your best for the good of our old Albanian culture and language and history, so that they don't go to oblivion. God forbid! Catalan and Spanish languages.
