How often do Europeans wash?/ In this country, people take the first place for cleanliness

Written by SOT.COM.AL 25 Maj 2023

The three months of summer can often become unbearable due to the heat and daily washing becomes very necessary.
But what happens in different European countries and how often do their citizens bathe? This is according to a new survey entitled "Percentage of people who bathe every day in Europe".
In this research we see the European map with different scales in terms of washing frequency. Italians are in the first place among citizens who bathe every day, with a percentage that reaches and exceeds 95%.
Just below with a percentage between 85% and 94% is Portugal, while the third place is shared by Greece and Spain with a percentage of people who bathe every day between 75% and 84%.
As we move up, particularly in the north of the European continent, the percentage drops dramatically with most countries below 65. However, France also makes an impression, which is on the list of countries where its citizens hardly ever bathe every day!
Does daily washing harm us?
Recently, the debate over whether or not bathing every day is necessary has made headlines thanks to some of Hollywood's most influential voices. After Jake Gyllenhaal told Vanity Fair magazine that he increasingly finds bathing "less necessary," many other celebrities came out in defense of intermittent personal hygiene.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have stated that they only clean their children when they "can see the dirt on them," and in 2008 Charlize Theron confessed that she can go a week without bathing.
Meanwhile, Brad Pitt revealed while filming Inglourious Basterds that he uses baby wipes as a shower replacement, and Cameron Diaz, Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts and Leonardo DiCaprio have publicly spoken out against using deodorant.
