Our daily life has a series of events that often destroy our romantic mood: stress, long working hours, health problems, other obligations. The spread of the corona virus has brought into our lives the quarantine, the protective measures, which have stressed us a lot in the last two years with the economic crisis, the war and the problems in the energy sector putting much more pressure on us in the last year. All this has certainly caused our libido (Libido is considered as the individual's sexual drive) not to have its best image.
The Kinsey Institute launched a study that confirmed just that. Of the participants, 44% said their sex life had declined, while 30% said the same about their romantic life. That some passed, e.g. quarantine with the partner did not mean they were in the mood to have sex. The same thing happened last summer. However, there are many arguments that argue that abstinence from sex does not have positive effects on the body. Apart from the fact that sex is a fun activity that brings us closer to our partner, we also lose many other advantages.
We will understand this better if we consider what happens to our body when we do not have sex.
1. Our blood pressure can increase. Sex improves our body's normal response to stress and this keeps blood pressure at a lower level.
2. We emphasize more. Good sex can make us forget even for a few hours all our problems and be able to relax. In this state we can see the things that happen to us from a different, less urgent perspective. During orgasm, in fact, endorphins are released: hormones that help improve our mood.
3. Our immune system weakens. Studies have shown that patients who had sex once or twice a week had an extremely high concentration of immunoglobulin A, an antibody that plays an important role in immunity.
4. Our work performance may decrease. Those who have an active sex life are much happier in their careers. The chain goes like this: a healthy relationship means a healthy sex life which brings happiness, so this is transferred to everyday life as a result of which we have more appetite for work.
