Do you want to block spam calls? WhatsApp comes with a new update

Calls from unknown people are unwanted especially through WhatsApp. Since Communities were introduced with the app, you may find yourself much more exposed to such things. But luckily it looks like WhatsApp is working on a way to eliminate it.

You've long been able to block any concerns after they've texted you or called you, but do you know how to prevent calls the first time? Leaked footage shows that the Meta-owned chat app wants to add a new tool to silence spam calls. While they will still appear in your notifications and calls list, they will not be able to bother you by calling you.

People will soon be able to mute unknown callers from settings. WABetaInfo, who revealed the new feature said:

This feature has several advantages, such as reducing interruptions and potentially avoiding unwanted calls.

It's not clear when the ability to mute unknown callers will be rolled out to the app. WhatsApp is constantly working on new buttons and devices, and not everyone makes the cut. So we'll have to wait and see if that comes to fruition for now.

But if it comes to fruition, it will certainly be useful and popular. If you want to try out the latest WhatsApp features first, you can join the app's beta program. To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on Android and search for WhatsApp. Scroll down the page until you see "Become a beta tester".

Tap the “I'm In” button and then click “Join” to confirm. Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app. Joining the WhatsApp beta on iOS is more difficult and has limited capacity.
