The author Ilina Sancineti from the Arbëresh settlement of Spixana, as well as the authors Nicola Scalici and Mario Calivanga Hora from Arbëreshëvet, were declared the winners of the "Krenarbëria" contest. On Wednesday, the awarding ceremony of the first edition of the competition was held, which was organized by the Center for Studies and Publications for Arbëreshët, as a way to motivate and promote Arbëresh young people in the field of literature. The ceremony was held on this symbolic day, which also coincides with the 121st anniversary of the death of Jeronim De Rada, and was attended by cultural and scientific personalities, as well as the Arbëresh competitors themselves, some of whom were coming for the first time in mother country Director of the Center for Studies and Publications for Arbëresh (QSPA), prof. Diana Kastrati presented the initiative and thanked the participants, especially the contest contestants who traveled from Italy to be present at the contest "Pride: Arbëresh Stories". She emphasized the need for intervention by state institutions for the survival of Arbera, as well as the need for revision of school curricula and the integration of Arbera authors and literature, staying in line with the strategies and policies of the QSPA. Furthermore, the director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Albania, Mr. Alessandro Ruggiero, who emphasized the awareness of the people of Arbëresh for the preservation of their ethnic identity in Italy. The jury was composed of three researchers from the Center of Studies and Publications for Arbëreshët, namely prof. Diana Kastrati, Dr. Fabio Rocchi and dr. Jolanda Lila, as well as from two important names of the Arbëre world, prof. Carmine Stamile and Mrs. Fernanda Pugliese. Researcher Jolanda Lila underlined the importance of the many contributions of this competition, which testify to the continuation of Arbëre literature in the field of prose. The first prize was awarded to the author Ilina Sancineti from Spixana, with the motivation: For the story "L'appartenenza- (Belonging)", where she knew how to realize anthropological and cultural archetypes of the Arbëre world, combining these testimonies with personal re-evocations of the heritage lyrical and oral contained in an original literary fable". The second prize went to the author Nicola Scalici from Hora e Arbëreshëvet, Sicily for the story "Accordion", while the third prize was awarded to the author Mario Caliva from Hora e Arbëreshëvet for the story "Mushku".
