Writers: The Ministry of Culture should have more productive policies, authors have remained poor even though their works make contributions

Writers: The Ministry of Culture should have more productive policies, authors

Writers demand that more be done for books and literature. They state that they face various problems in creativity, asserting that the Ministry of Culture should have more productive cultural policies. On "World Writers' Day", which is marked every year on March 3, authors Xhahid Bushati and Vasil Premçi said that it is a day that brings attention back to problems. They say that with the policies followed by the Ministry of Culture in the country, more should be done for creators. For the writer Xahid Bushati from the ministry, it should be policies to give strength to the lives of creators. "The Ministry of Culture should make the platforms, which are very important, to create the writer's safety ground, we always talk about those talented authors, because nothing happens. The MK itself should make residencies in the south or the north and the Albanian authors should go for a month. The Ministry of Culture should have more productive policies to give strength to the lives of writers," says Bushati. Another problem according to the writer Xjahid Bushati is the decline in reading. According to him, Albanian authors today are poor even though they have contributions. The problem is that today little is read, there is a decline in reading. Writers have remained poor, but their works make contributions. Therefore, there is a need for new stages of culture to articulate the Albanian language more beautifully," says Bushati. Why does he criticize MK, the writer Xhahid Bushati appreciates the work done by the National Book and Reading Center with the possibilities it has. "NKLL is really honoring writers and its activities are numerous. I am glad that 2023 has been declared the "Year of Petro Marcos", he says. On the "World Writers' Day" that was celebrated yesterday, Xhahid Bushati said that the writer's mission is very important. "The contribution of writers is of special importance to protect the identity of the Albanian language and our literature", he said.

The law and authors

The writer Vasil Premçi says that even though Albanian authors face problems in their activity, they are far from support. According to him, the law is not in favor of the author. "Removed from a whole front, which seems to be defeating literature. We see this work with our own eyes. We all experience it in different ways, readers leave, laws come out against the book and the writers. Subjects include book managers, book dealers, publishing houses, who define writers and books. We feel as if we are locked in a cage, being managed by others. Laws, fairs, market, support and support are far from us", he says. The problem for the writer Premçi is what happens with literary contests, where criticism is expressed and what happens at the book fair. "Literary competitions from the Ministry of Culture are similar to tenders, which are held in any field that is caught in advance. They are caught up with the famous commissions that take place", says Premçi. March 3 has been declared "World Writers' Day" and has been celebrated since 1986. "World Writers' Day" was founded by the International Congress of the PEN Club, an association of writers around the world founded in London in 1921.
