The translation of works from the Albanian language into a foreign language, KKLL opens the call for applications

The National Book and Reading Center yesterday opened the call for applications for translations of literary works from the Albanian language into foreign languages. This call is addressed to all foreign publishers who want to publish Albanian authors. NKLL states that the request must be submitted by a foreign publisher, equipped with a publishing license; the publisher must secure the copyright before applying, or at least be in the process of securing the copyright (the original contract must be in Albanian or English). The publisher must also present the contract with the translator (the original contract must be in Albanian or English); the publisher must submit an excerpt from the original book and its translation, as specified in the form. After the approval of the financial support, the NKLL will sign a contract with the publisher. The full/partial funding of the translation provided by KKLL will be transferred to the publisher's account. The winners will be announced in the first week of May, on the KKLL website and will also be notified by email. According to the National Book and Reading Center (KKLL), if the documentation is not sent complete and within the deadline, the application will not be considered for the selection phase. Submission of the application to the National Book and Reading Center is done by April 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., electronically at [email protected], as well as at the postal address: "Papa Gjon Pali II" street, 1010, near the hotel Domus, Tirana.
