The restoration works in the "Islamic Urban Complex - Xermëhalle" are completed

"Islamic Urban Complex - Xermëhalle", located in Delvin Municipality, is part of the maintenance package of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage. DRTK informs that restoration interventions have been carried out, which have been completed in this urban complex. "The maintenance/restoration/consolidation works are completed in the first category cultural monument", says DRTK Vlorë, which has shared photos of the complex on its website in social networks. After the drafting of the project by the Vlora Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage and the approval of the project by the National Council of Material Cultural Heritage, it was announced that maintenance, restoration and consolidation works would begin in October in this first category cultural monument. The Vlora Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage stated that the maintenance, restoration and consolidation works mainly consisted of interventions in the "Hamami". "Strengthening of its vaults, placing a steel structure (vault); maintenance, cleaning and arrangement of the surrounding environment, etc. Intervention at "Tyrbja": roof restoration, installation of the wooden ceiling, restoration of the cobblestone floor, consolidation of cracks in the masonry, etc. Interventions in the rest of the "Complex" are consolidation of the existing ruins, etc., DRTK said. The mosque of the complex is one of the first mosques built in Albania, the king-mosque of Xhermëhalla in Delvina. The Islamic complex of 1682, the only one in the Albanian territory in terms of architecture, is a cultural monument of the first category.
