The National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble was awarded the "Festival Honor" award at the 21st anniversary of the Nationwide Festival of Artistic Cultural Societies and Song and Dance Ensembles "Flakadani i Karadaku", under the patronage of the Municipality of Vitia, Kosovo. In this festival, the artists of AKKVP were presented with a rich musical program. The National Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances with artistic director Sokol Marsin conducts a rich musical activity, including participation in various festivals. The National Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances or the State Ensemble was created in 1957 as a professional ensemble. This ensemble consists of singing soloists, orchestra, dance group and choir. The purpose of the ensemble is to process, develop and spread the folklore treasure of Albania. This includes the great folklore vocal, instrumental, choreographic and costumographic riches, which vary from area to area, creating a color of motifs. Albanian folklore stands out for its originality, antiquity and variety of artistic genres. Many ethnographic areas have their own peculiarities in songs, dances, costumes, rites and customs. The support of the Folk Ensemble to this resource and the various expeditions developed in all areas have made the ensemble to be not only the pride of the traditional Albanian culture, but also to amaze researchers and folklorists from all over the world with its values. For decades, the ensemble has turned into a laboratory for the processing and interpretation with very high artistic demands of the great folklore source treasure, making possible its transmission from generation to generation.
