The 18th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice will be titled "Laboratory of the Future". The theme of this biennale "Laboratory of the Future" was chosen by the curator of the 18th edition, Lesley Lokko. The Albanian pavilion at the International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale interprets the general theme "Laboratory of the Future" through the exhibition "Timeless Reflections, or: How we learn to live in synthesized realities". The Minister of Culture Elva Margariti says that for 6 months from May 19, at the International Architecture Biennale in Venice, it will be possible to visit the Albanian pavilion, where a group of young professionals bring a reflection on the role of the architect as an agent of change in public spaces and in the environment. "With the question of what will be the future of architecture, in the fast virtual times, Era and Martini are included in the "Laboratory of ideas" of the International Biennale of Architecture in Venice. On May 19, the Albanian pavilion opens, in a space twice as large as in previous years, where the reflection on universal questions comes from our reality", says the Minister of Culture on social networks. Curated by Era Merkuri and Martin Gjoleka, this exhibition in collaboration with Ani Marku and Geraldo Prendushin aims to present new typologies of urban spaces and highlight the Anthropocene landscape through a comprehensive narrative approach that reuses and re-imagines the role of rendering tools such as medium of expression. where reflection on universal questions comes from our reality", says the Minister of Culture on social networks. Albanian pavilion
The participation of Albania's pavilion in Biennale Architettura 2023 consists of reflections and events that aim to explore and propose ways of living in synthesized realities. Through the exhibition, it is said about this presentation, the pavilion invites visitors to think deeply about the possibilities and realizations of the connections between people, the environment and technology in enabling the spiritual and mental renewal of spaces and civic objects. "What is conveyed is the uncertain distinction between fiction and reality, the role of the architect is questioned, the human experience is amplified through technology and, above all, the homo-Ludens within us is allowed to take the lead. By becoming interactive, the aim of the exhibition is to encourage courage and desire to transform together with the environment and technology". it is said about the exhibition. The winning project that presents our country in Venice was selected through an open call for project proposals announced by the Ministry of Culture in the role of commissioner of the Albanian pavilion, following two stages of the selection process, by an international jury composed of Berina Kokona, Simon Battisti, Eugen Kallfani, Erfort Kuke and Arjan Ymeri. The Architecture Biennale will be open to the public until November 26, 2023.
