Recent study of the act of release from slavery, in the notarial document found in the State Archives in Florence, Italy, it is documented that his mother was registered as a slave.
For several years, it was hypothesized that Caterina, the mother of the greatest genius of mankind, was not a free person, and now after observing the found documentation, it seems that confirmation is coming.
According to researchers quoted by the Italian news agency Ansa, the notary who freed the slave is the same person who loved her, and from whom she gave birth to the child, Leonardo.
The study was conducted by Carlo Vecce, who presented his book "Caterina's Smile".
