Greis Shametaj: "The Magic Flute" an opera that includes comedy, adventure, hatred, where love prevails in the end

Written by Julia Vrapi 26 Maj 2023

Moxart's opera "The Magic Flute" with its extraordinary melody for 3 consecutive days at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet. Moxart's work brings together TKOB artists as well as art students. With a libretto based on a fairy tale with subtle notes of humor and full of mystery, Tamino is sent by the Queen of the Night to rescue her daughter Pamina from the high priest Sarastro. However, during his adventure, Tamino appreciates Sarastro's values ??and ideals and joins his journey. Arts student Greis Shametaj takes on the role of the Queen of the Night in Moxart's work. She says that it is an opera, where love prevails in the end. "As the name "Maggic" has, so it really is. An opera that includes comedy, adventure, love, hate where in the end love and happiness prevail. Quite beautiful and loving for our little friends, but not only", says Shametaj, who studies at the University of Arts Master-II. Moxart's spiritual testament will be carried forward on May 26, 27 and 28, with the opera for children and families "The Magic Flute", a multidimensional work where art-loving little ones will be totally involved in a magical world. In the performance, the Symphony Orchestra of the Armed Forces, conductor Dritan Lumshi, director Ada Gurra, soloists of TKOB and students of the University of Arts. But the Queen of the Night for the young soprano Greis Shametaj was a role for which she appreciates the support of her teachers. "A role that is as beautiful as it is requires great intensity. From the artistic side, it has had its own difficulties along the way, but I would not have succeeded without the support of my teachers, Eva Golemi - my artistic director for 5 years and Ingrid Pulizo - concertmaster. Also, maestro Dritan Lumshi has been and is a great help to me artistically. I also want to thank project manager Ulpiana Aliaj and director Ada Gurra for their hard work. A special thanks goes to the director of TKOB, Abigeila Voshtina, who gives the opportunity to us young people to perform and get stage and artistic experience", says Shametaj, who will be the Queen of the Night in "The Magic Flute".
Vepra e Moxartit
