Four films from the second edition of the Dropull International Film Festival will be screened this evening in Tirana for the public. This year, in July, the festival will hold its third edition in Dropull, but its films are not missing in Tirana as well. The films from Greece and Albania that are winners of the second edition of this festival will be shown in the concert hall of the Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana, where the participation of the directors is also expected. "Dropull International Short Film Festival" has become part of the artistic life, showing in previous editions different film productions that have been welcomed by the public, but according to artistic director Kosta Zhonga, the festival is not just a film screening. He says that he brings films from this festival to Tirana not only because it is the metropolis of art, but this came as a result of the constant request of his friends, but also of professionals who did not have the opportunity last year to attend the festival in Dropull. "This is another reason for the success of the work done in Dropull. This festival is not just a film screening on a sheet in a lost village, as I have sporadically heard the words. This annual festival, which is organized in the tourist areas of Dropulli, gathers well-known directors, actors and artists from different countries of the world and gives voice not only to the art of cinematography, but also to different art disciplines, such as painting, song, dance, music, photography, literature, etc., says Zhonga, who adds that during this festival various workshops are organized for children and young people,

Third edition

Artistic director Kosta Zhonga says that in the third edition, which will take place in July, the flows were much more than expected. "We mainly have social topics with the problems we all face in our daily lives, the consequences of the economic crisis, but the subject of immigration and politics is not left untouched," he says. In this third edition, artistic director Zhonga says that they have selected 7 short films from Albania and 10 from Greece, as well as 6 animated films from Albania and 15 from Greece, where this year there are also about 10 animated films from Cyprus. "But one day we will show the films made at the Olympia Festival, the Zizanio camera with films made by children and young people up to the age of 20", says Zhonga about the festival. Artistic director Kosta Zhonga says that the opening of the festival is organized in one of the archaeological sites of Dropulli, in the Ancient Theater of Hadrianopolis. According to him, this festival has highlighted the archaeological and historical monuments of the area, which have already become tourist attractions for the whole world. "In this context, the values ??of the festival are not limited only to the artistic aspect, but have continuous effects as a promotion of touristic Albania", he says.
