The exhibition "Woman in the Albanian photographic image", as part of the "Idromeno Independent Film Festival"

The "Idromeno Independent Film Festival" this year came with a rich calendar of activities. The second edition of the film festival in Shkodër started a few days ago, and today is its last day. At the "Idromeno Independent Film Festival" in collaboration with the Central State Film Archive and the organization "Woman to Woman" is the "Idromeno Uncovering" program. Talented, courageous and inspiring, "Idromeno Uncovering" brings the girls and women who changed the mentality of Albanian cinematography. "Woman in the Albanian photographic image - a photographic journey" an exhibition curated by Erjon Tusha at the festival, with 10 photos that reflect the society of different eras in the image. In the curatorial text it is said that during this complex time in the history of Albanian culture, many actresses excelled and achieved their popularity despite the control of the dictatorship of the time. "Using the latest photographic technology, this exhibition is dedicated to the performance achievements of some of the most beloved actresses of the Albanian screen such as: Roza Anagnosti, Elvira Diamanti, Anisa Markarian and Luiza Xhuvani. These photographs taken from the original negatives are just a small part of an incredible collection of photographs that are being preserved for future generations of filmmakers, film scholars, students of photography and art film enthusiasts," says the exhibition that opened on May 7 in the square in front of Shkodër City Hall. AQSHF states that thanks to the work with the MEAP project funded by the UCLA Library, it became possible to scan the photo negatives from the Fototeka and access them for study purposes, educational or artistic. At the festival again this year, different films were shown in cinemas, but during the days of the festival, in cooperation with the Atelier Youth Center, "Idromeno Industrial" was also developed. Days dedicated to cinema professionals and students who aspire to be part of the film industry. The program consisted of workshops, conservation and restoration of film and photography, masterclasses, acting art, etc.
