Drama and comedy will be shown in the ancient amphitheater of Durrës

This summer season, the artists will be performing in the ancient amphitheater of Durrës. The theater "Aleksandër Moisiu" in Durrës has announced the program of performances that will be this week in the ancient amphitheater of Durrës, where performances were given to the public last summer. The theater says that this week marks the beginning of a long calendar of activities at the amphitheater. The first one this week for the public is a stand up show by actor Gent Hazizi and Bes Meustafaj. From the National Experimental Theater "Kujtim Spahivogli" comes the show "Flower Sajza" directed by Endri Çela for two evenings in a row at the amphitheater of Durrës. With the interpretation of the actress Rajmonda Bulku, Adriana Toka and Valentina Myteveli, the performance "Lule Sajza" will be for the public on the evenings of June 21 and 22. The comedy by Dario Fo and Franca Rame is directed by Sulejman Rushiti. In this comedy, the actors are Romir Zalla, Suela Bako, Ismail Omer, Elly Mladenovska and Zurijet Sulejmani. On the evenings of June 23 and 24, a comedy will be held, where through theatricality, farce, irony and the drama of the characters, important issues of marital and social life are addressed. Put on many stages of the world for the universal theme, the drama it deals with, the comedy comes as a collaboration between the theater "Aleksandër Moisiu" and the Theater of Gostivari. Sulejman Rushiti is an Albanian director from North Macedonia, whose shows have not been absent from our stages before. Rushiti graduated in directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Tirana. The following artistic calendar may bring other activities and performances in the amphitheater of Durrës, which is the largest and most important, not only in Albania, but also in the Balkans. The amphitheater was built at the beginning of the 2nd century AD during the reign of Emperor Trajan. The amphitheater of Durrës was discovered in 1966 by the old scientific collaborator Vangjel Toçi, the year in which dozens of expeditions of the research and scientific sectors, Albanian and foreign, were launched.
