Artists, curators and architects come together in a public discussion in the former prison of Spaç on the future of this site, aiming to make it a museum. Part of the activity will be the screening of the documentary "Fracture", as well as the presentation of the catalog. Fraktura - as a site-specific artistic intervention and public meeting - was born as an alternative movement with the aim of the public to have an active participation, and in fact, the key to Fraktura lies precisely in this engagement of the public in an active role and in the invitation to groups of matters of interest about the legacy of the project, which is closely related to the very fate of the infamous former prison of Spaçi. The organizers of the activity today say that all together, they initiated a challenge with the "Fracture" project, inviting even informal groups to concrete parallel projects, which in different ways treat the collective memory and the space of Spaçi as a subject to build alternative narratives with what has been done with these issues up to this moment. According to them, an awareness of the cruelty of the dictatorship should arise from the ruins of Spaçi. "This is obvious, but more needs to be done: Spaçi is an emblem of that cruelty, and as such, today's society has the duty to commit to the future of this site, aiming to make it a museum. The fracture aims at exactly this," the organizers say. Curator Elton Koritari shows that the activity is born in the framework of the realization of the documentary "Fracture" and the catalog of the exhibition, but seeks to realize it something more, to engage cells of the community created around the artistic intervention in Spaç and to motivate them to continue on this journey. Some of them even have the opportunity to appear and be discussed right in Spaç. "There will be an open public discussion about this today in Spaç. The history and suffering in the notorious Spaçi former prison in Mirdita, were brought to attention through the exhibition entitled "Fracture", with authors Ardian Isufi and Fatos Lubonja in February of this year. Artifacts, installations, items, documents, etc. were exposed inside the ruins of the prison. Curated by Elton Koritari, this activity aroused interest, following which other activities continue today.
