"Keeping the north of Kosovo under control by foreign troops is not an objective that KFOR is currently considering."
This is what the spokesperson of the organization, Colonel Andrea Gallijeni, said during a media conference this Friday.
He stated that at the moment it is necessary to increase the presence of KFOR in the north and added that everything will depend on whether the situation will escalate further.
"No. It is not our objective. We are to increase the presence in the north, because of this process and this crisis. But it is not an objective to be present in the north of Kosovo, more than what is needed. We are a military organization committed to increasing security. At this moment, we are increasing our presence, but it depends on the situation, which could escalate and reach acts of violence.
