The chairman of the Democratic Party of Vula, Lulzim Basha, reacted after the former FBI official, Charles McGonigal, pleaded guilty on Friday to receiving $225,000 from the Albanian-American, Agron Nezaj, who, according to court documents, became an informant. for the FBI investigation regarding his contacts and meetings in Albania. The former senior agent also admitted lobbying against a rival party of Edi Rama in Albania that is not mentioned by name, but is assumed to be the DP based on what happened next.

"No one can stop the truth, no matter how much they delay, no matter how much money is invested against it, no matter how much mud is thrown to cover it. Above all, this truth is payback for the democrats who came under attack to get dirty and to be damaged not only by Edi Rama, but also by Sali Berisha" writes Basha in his reaction.

Asked by Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly whether on November 25, Charles McGonigal had "informed the Justice Department Attorney ... of a possible criminal investigation into a US citizen who had registered to lobby 'for a party that was not of Prime Minister Rama', Mr. McGonigal answered "Yes". McGonigal had received information about this lobbyist from Mr. Ducka.
