The deputy of the Democratic Party, Tomor Alizoti, declared that Albanian diplomacy has turned into a place of gossip. During his speech at the Foreign Commission, where the candidate for ambassador of Israel, Meri Kumbe, is being presented, Alizoti said that he does not think that the latter is in the right position.

Among other things, he said that he sees Kumbe more in Unesco.

"We will choose the best connoisseur of that country. Unfortunately, the foreign policy in Albania has become a place of confusion. Israel has returned to the country of importance. I wanted to see in Israel a diplomat who had a lot of recognition. Your CV is very rich, but I think you are in the wrong position. You must have done very well at Unesco. The ambassador is a big, serious figure of a state. That's why I think it shouldn't be a place of gossip. There is also a diplomatic corps that has been around for years. Diplomacy is like the military and there are ranks. Foreign policy is something national, it does not belong to a party, but to all Albanians. There must be people in foreign policy who do not like the prime minister, but who also think differently from him. Very knowledgeable people are also rebels. Respect for you, if it was for another post yes, but for Israel, I am not for you.
