The Albanian family severely damaged by Western liberalism and the consequences of religious extremism
Written by Pirro Prifti 25 Janar 2023
Not more than 32 years have passed and Albania is in danger of disintegrating again, no longer from any threat or wild military invasion like 500 years ago, nor before the Nazi-fascist invasion, but from the great global influence of two social extremes : from Western liberal democracy and the consequences of international religious extremism. A little history. When the Soviet Union collapsed, Western scholars profusely proclaimed the end of the Cold War era, concluding that the triumph of the liberal world order was the only panacea for humanity. This desire to build a uniform world order based on the Western hegemonic conception has been the anchor sheet of the theories of many Western scholars since then. Apparently, the heteropolar world that has arisen after the fall of communism is contradicting the desire to establish a liberal hegemony that is required by the Western world, the Western liberal hegemony that will lead social life in a globalist world that will be like a village of great where communication via the Internet and the digitization of all jobs, whether media or other, will be real in facilitating social life. The big problem occurred from the clash of cultures of different countries. So after the not very successful attempts to spread liberal democracy by violence after the 90s (reminiscent of Fidel Castro's former demands for the spread of socialist revolutions by violence ), the world is looking for a more reasonable solution. According to the Israeli scholar Yoram Hazony who in a groundbreaking work on nationalism, he criticizes liberal construction as "a form of imperialism". He says that "like other imperialists, they are quick to express disgust, contempt and anger when their vision of peace and prosperity is challenged". "Each nation judges according to its own perspective. There is no human being and no nation that can claim to have captured the whole truth about everyone else." Some scholars seek a more reasonable solution to establish a new social order such as a ``New Order with a mixture of Western liberalism and Eastern civilizational nationalism''. but moving from extreme isolationism to extreme liberalism, Albanian society slowly began to unravel; and at first suffering a galloping emigration of 1.7 million people within the first 10 years mainly due to poverty, due to low income, due to the desire to see Western countries as places of material and spiritual paradise, but also for left because of insecurity in the country, lack of health care, lack of lights, lack of adequate education, because some were former insurance or former insurance associates, so in general they left and are leaving for a better life, for greater financial income. It is known that the populations of small countries try to migrate to larger countries where the opportunities are better to live. In addition, there was an internal migration in Albania, where the majority of the Albanian population today is mainly in Tirana and Durrës, and in the cities, emptying the villages. Of course, one of the causes of the departure is the great political conflict between the main parties, rampant corruption, fear of reprisals between drug gangs, pimps, etc. The Albanian tradition of a good and consolidated family is being lost due to another factor, that of the pressure of Western liberal societies which promote the so-called sexual revolution, LGBTI (QA), in the name of liberalism, the introduction of pornographic channels, the promotion on private TV of individuals without identity, banal entertainment shows, and a media pressure unprecedented political conflicts that cause people to leave or divorce. Today, 1 in 3 families have divorces, mainly in young families. Divorces mainly from emigration, from the lack of income, but also from the pressure of a toxic liberalism on the Albanian society where everything is possible. Despite the fact that the Albanian state has signed the law on human rights and freedoms and the right to property, in Albania there is an 'unwritten law of impunity', where the politician, pareliu, the strong, where justice remains totally corrupt, many people they forget that freedom is not absolute but ends where the freedom of the other begins. Despite the fact that the majority of Albanian emigration brings income to Albania, some of them are illegal income, and this has led to the departure of young people and young families, thinking that living abroad is better and not being tired and working as in Albania where the income is low. Leaving the country and the collision with the foreign reality where Albanians are seen as second class citizens, the presence of groups of Albanians who work in black or criminal jobs with or without their will, has caused a negative social phenomenon that is often called negative liberalism. What is negative liberalism? Negative freedom is freedom from the interference of other people. Negative freedom is primarily about freedom from external constraints and is contrasted with positive freedom (having the power and resources to fulfill one's potential). This is happening in Albania and in Albanians abroad in Western democratic countries. This causes the breakdown of Albanian families both abroad and within the country. The last factor that should not be left out is atheism. Lack of faith in God. The lack of restrictions that the Christian religion has imposed, which are also in the Constitution of all Western countries, such as marriage 1 man-1 woman, according to God's 10 commandments to Moses, has caused the destruction of the Family, which is the main unit of society. And this unit is breaking down mainly in western countries. The social role of the doctrine of religious extremism of the ``Sharia'' type, has begun to be used in Albania at the beginning by allowing marriages with more than one wife, violence against women, rape, creating hatred towards the ``kafirs'', continues to affect the society of small countries like Albania and Kosovo as well as in the Balkans. This is the other side of the extreme pressure on the Albanian society which is always found today and for 1000 years in the extreme western liberal pressure and the so-called eastern nationalism of civilization. Where should we go? From the western extreme material liberal order where money is God? Or from the eastern nationalist order where social restrictions prevail?
