Albanian taxpayers pay 810 million euros for concessions, almost half of which is under investigation by SPAK

For the period 2017-2024, the state budget has paid and is expected to pay with taxpayers' money about 86 billion lek (810 million euros) for 12 concession contracts, according to data from the Ministry of Finance, processed by Monitor (see table: Payments actual from the state budget for concessions 2017-2024).
Divided by sector, the largest part of this amount, with about 31 billion lek (290 million euros), or 36% of the total, went and is expected to go to the four health concessions (sterilization, check up, laboratory, dialysis) .
About 28 billion lek (206 million euros) is for infrastructure projects (Rruga e Arbri, maintenance of Milot-Morinë, Orikum-Dukat, construction of schools in Tirana).
About 14 billion lek (135 million euros), or almost 17% of the total, are intended for the incinerators of Fier, Elbasan and Tirana.
The scan reaches for the period in question 12.6 billion ALL (119 million euros), or 14.6% of the total. (see chart: Payments for concessions by sector 2017-2024).
According to the projects, the largest is the Arbri road, with 19.3 billion ALL for the period 2017-2024. The second largest project is sterilization, with about 13 billion ALL, followed by scanning with 12.6 billion ALL. Next is the Tirana Incinerator (7.9 billion ALL); Laboratories (6.4 billion ALL); Dialysis (6 billion ALL); check up (5.8 billion ALL); Milot-Morina maintenance (4.7 billion ALL); Fier incinerator (4 billion ALL); Elbasan incinerator (2.4 billion ALL); Orikum-Dukat (2.1 billion ALL); Educational infrastructure (1.8 billion ALL). - see the chart: Payments for concessions according to projects./ Monitor
