The final price of electricity for household and business consumers has undergone changes during 2022. "Open Data Albania" has analyzed the changes in the sale price of electricity for household and business consumers according to the supply voltage for 2022, according to which the final price of selling electricity to household and business consumers has increased. By final price we mean the selling price of energy plus electricity transmission and distribution fees, while household consumers, for the period from October 1st, will face 2 bands or different levels of electricity prices. Families that spend up to 800 kilowatts per month will pay the price of 9.5 Lek for each kilowatt, this without VAT. While household consumers who spend more than 800 kilowatts, will pay the price of 42 Lek per kilowatt for each amount of kilowatts over 800. This progressive band is expected to affect more families with many members, the elderly who lead a more intensive family life, and parents who raise children consuming more in washing, cooking or heating with energy. For example: A family consumes 1000 kilowatts of electricity per month, for this amount spent before October 1, 2022, it must pay 11,400 Lek with VAT (1000 kKh 9.5 Lek/kKh plus 20% VAT). After October 1st, the same amount consumed will be invoiced for a total of 18,920 Lek with VAT, where 800 kKh will be calculated at 9.5 Lek per kKh, while 200 kKh will be calculated at the price of 42 Lek per kKh plus VAT on the sales price of 20% . For the same amount consumed, the Family consumer will pay 7,520 Lek or about 66% more.
For business customers
Meanwhile, for business customers, an increase in tariffs is observed according to the voltage level. This increase comes as a result of the change in electricity transmission and distribution tariffs. Higher service and transmission fees affect the final price that businesses pay. The highest increase is observed in customers who are supplied with 0.4 kilovolt voltage, where the active price calculated for the period May 1-December 31 is 24.07 Lek/KHh, about 1.73 Lek/KHh or 7.7% more than the price in the period January 1 - April 31 (calculated ALL 22.34/kg). Even for customers at the 20 kV voltage, there was an increase of 0.19 Lek/kH or 1.1% of the purchase price of electricity. Customers in this voltage now pay 18.04 Lek/kH from 17.85 Lek/kH. Electricity transmission and distribution fees are also calculated in this fee. For bakeries and flour production in 20/10/6 kV, there was a price increase of 1.2 Lek/kg. These customers pay about 15.26 Lek/kg with VAT, or 8.5% more from January 1 - April 30, 2022. While Bakeries and flour production at 0.4 kV voltage pay the price of 15.86 Lek per kg or 1.2 Lek/kg more than period January 1-April 30.
