The price of crude oil in the international markets has decreased by 7.7 dollars within the week and currently the barrel of oil is trading at 76.7 dollars on the stock exchange, while at the end of November it cost 84.5 dollars.
But this drop in the price of oil on the stock exchange has not yet been reflected in the local market, as companies continue to sell oil at 195-199 ALL/liter, with slight movements since November.
The oil market has been volatile in recent weeks, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and Palestinian-Israeli tensions, which call into question the sufficiency of oil in the market.
But despite this decrease, Albanians continue to pay 195-200 lek per liter of oil, while they should have paid only 175 lek/liter if the fuels were based on the international exchange, as they say they do.
