Akernia's hydropower is being reconstructed, Minister Anila Denaj: 40-year-old electric generators are being replaced with the latest generation ones

 The old electropumps of the hydrovor of Akernia, since 40 years ago, had significantly lost their water removal capacity, have been replaced with the latest generation electromechanics that will guarantee the drainage of about 4600 ha of land.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, who was in Akernia today, accompanied by the head of the municipality of Vlora, Ermal Dredha, announced that the complete reconstruction of the hydrovor, worth about 150 million Lek, has been completed.

"The complete reconstruction of the hydrovor of Akernia, worth about 150 million lek, is completed, where the old electropumps of 40 years, which had significantly lost their water removal capacity, have been replaced with the latest generation electromechanics that will guarantee the drainage of about 4,600 ha of land, serving the agricultural land, but also all the very modern infrastructure that is being built, especially with the airport of Vlora", Minister Denaj declared.

According to her, the new pump technology saves up to 50,000 Lek per cubic meter of water, making the hydrovor more efficient and economical.

"This investment is another step forward in the improvement of hydropower systems in Albania, helping the development of the area and improving the conditions for the community", said Denaj.
