Citizens pay 46 million euros in taxes from salaries, income tax marked the biggest increase for January

The year 2023 has started positively for the state budget as the revenues collected are nearly 10 percent compared to 2022. Referring to official data from the Ministry of Finance, in January the total revenues were recorded at nearly 440 million euros and the tax paid, calculated on the personal income of Albanian citizens had the highest growth, leaving behind the contribution made by VAT as a result of increased prices. Specifically, in January 2022 personal income tax contributed 30.5 percent more than January 2022. In other words, from this item, the state budget collected in the first month of the year, 5.2 billion lek or about 46 million euros from 35.2 million euros collected in the same period last year. In the item of personal income tax, the highest contribution is made by the tax on the salaries of employees in the private and public sector, followed by the tax paid from the sale of real estate, which is at the level of 15 percent, as well as the tax on rents .
