Budget 2024, Reestablishment: Money for oligarchs, no additional funds for needy families

The re-establishment says that the 2024 budget does not focus on the well-being of citizens, the increase in pensions or economic assistance. The deputy of Berisha, Sorina Koti, said yesterday in a statement to the media that the budget money goes to the oligarchs, while she criticized the majority for holding online meetings. "For the first time in the history of the Albanian Parliament, meetings are held online, even though we are in normal living conditions. No opposition, no hearing with interest groups, no round table with fiscal actors and experts. The Fiscal Package and Project-Budget of 2024 is the true face of the Government, abuse, theft, facade expenses and nothing tangible for citizens and businesses. Farmers in protest; students in protests; free professions in protests, miners in protests, pensioners in protests. All in protest, because year after year this Government does not offer them any financial improvement and living with dignity. No facilitating fiscal policy for businesses, as well as an increase in excise duties. As if the damage caused to the business was not enough, this Government will also tax free professions as big business with a progressive tax of 15-23%. Families in need, again no money more. this budget does not meet the needs of citizens for quality health; for education; for order and security; for infrastructure; for energy; for heating; for water; for production and marketing of agricultural products. There is money, but funds need to be distributed where the priorities are; where is the most vital need of the Albanians; where the Albanians have asked them. We have spoken out against the Fiscal Package and the 2024 Budget. Albanians demand an increase in well-being, not your thefts", declared Koti.
