Money Week for 2023, Governor Gent Sejko: Financial education, among the important objectives of BSH

In the premises of the Bank of Albania, the money week for the year 2023 was opened, during which various activities will be organized. This week is a worldwide money celebration aimed at raising awareness among children and young people to be responsible future citizens and able to make well thought out financial decisions. During the week of March 20-26, 2023, the Bank of Albania, in cooperation with the Albanian Association of Banks and the support of the Ministry of Education and Sports, organize diverse activities for children and young people. At the core of these activities is financial education, more specifically: how to take care of money, how to save, how to think financially. These will be realized through their participation in lectures, competitions, visits to the Museum of the Bank of Albania and open teaching hours. In his welcoming speech, Governor Sejko stated that the Bank of Albania, with the cooperation of the Albanian Association of Banks and thanks to the excellent support of the Ministry of Education and Sports, as well as other partners, has over the years organized educational and awareness-raising activities for the age groups of pre-university and university students. "In this week, our goals converge more than ever with those of educational institutions and civil society organizations, for the increase of financial knowledge and the awareness of the young generation to be financially responsible citizens in the future", emphasized the Governor. Further, Governor Sejko stated that the aim of the national strategy is to bring all interested institutions to the national level within an inter-institutional structure with a coordinated objective and program. "The Bank of Albania has transformed culture and financial inclusion into one of the important objectives of its mandate, making it an integral part of its institutional duties. In this framework, in cooperation with the World Bank and all internal partners, work has been done on the drafting of the National Strategy for Financial Education and Inclusion (SKEPF), which describes the general principles and objectives of financial education and inclusion.
