Inflation does not stop construction, permits for new buildings increase in the last 3 months of 2022, Durrës with the highest number, Tirana second

Despite the inflation from the war in Ukraine, the construction sector continues to have an upward trend. According to INSTAT data, in the last three months of 2022, the number of new construction permits was 415 and increased by 16.6% more than in the same period of 2021, when 356 permits were approved. The largest number of construction permits was given by the Municipality of Durrës, 189 against 89 of Tirana, while it is worth highlighting the municipality of Kukes, which in the last 6 months of 2022 did not issue any construction permits. Despite the fact that Durrës is in the first place for the construction permits granted, as far as the area of ??approved construction permits is concerned, Tirana is in the first place with 348,310 square meters, against 79,491 in Durrës. But according to INSTAT, the area of ??construction permits approved for new buildings, in the fourth quarter of 2022, is 555,779 m 2 , from 608,870 m 2 approved in the fourth quarter of 2021, marking a decrease of 8.7%.
