The loss of the trial with Becchetti and the arrogance of the government cost the Albanians dearly, the Court of Appeal in Belgium blocks 65 million euros in the accounts of Albcontrol

Just as the "SOT" newspaper had warned, the arrogance of the Albanian government to not pay the Italian businessman, Francekso Francesco for the loss of the Arbitration trial, seems to cost the Albanians dearly, while this time Albcontrolli has also become a victim. Thus "Global Arbitration Magazine" has echoed the decision of an appeals court in Brussels to keep in force the blocking of Albcontrol's assets on account of the Italian businessman, Francesco Beketi. The article states that the decision was made on May 15, after Eurocontrol had made an appeal against the decision to freeze Albcontrol's assets because the Italian businessman won an arbitration against the Albanian government worth 110 million euros. Eurocontrol had requested that Albcontrol be separated from the Albanian state, but the court emphasized that this is absurd, after every agreement has been made with Albania. So AlbControl's millions will go to Becket's account. But it doesn't stop there, according to the portal, around 65 million euros of Albania have been blocked by Beket due to the colossal fine. So it seems that the funds going to Albcontroll will be taken by the businessman, only that the government refuses to pay, where obviously the only losers from this matter will be the Albanian citizens, whose taxes and money are "turning into grapes and plums".

The former State Attorney reacts

Meanwhile, regarding the "Becchetti" case, the head of the Anticorruption Department in "Foltore", the former State Attorney, Ledina Mandija, has reacted, who says that this will not be the only battle of the Italian businessman. In a television interview yesterday, Mrs. Mandija stressed that Becchetti will look for Albania's accounts in other countries to block them in an attempt to execute the court's decision. "This is not the only battle that Becchetti will fight. He blocked 65 million, but the other money accumulates and they are all blocked. If he finds other assets of the Republic of Albania, he will try to block them. Under these conditions, Albania will be exposed in court proceedings around the world. It will also cost money because it will have to contract law firms and pursue enforcement actions in states where the execution of judgments is required. There was a first instance decision and then it was upheld by the Court of Appeal. Despite the efforts of the Belgian state, Albania has failed. I'm sorry, I've had experiences of the decisions of the European court when it comes to the protection of states in implementation of a decision of an international agreement, but this apparently is not the case", she declared. Meanwhile, Mandija emphasized that the financial compensation bill for Becchetti has reached 140 million euros, from 110 million euros that was due to the arbitration decision. "Such leaders from the Albanian government harm the country and the right way should be found to avoid the additional costs that the process of executing a very high financial bill will take. Unfortunately, this 110 million euros could be 140 million euros. I see it with great concern, I don't speak about it to oppose the Albanian government, but I see it as a concern as a citizen", underlined Mandija.

Kujtojmë se Becchetti në arbitrazh ka pretenduar për një persekutim politik në mungesë të ndonjë dënimi nga drejtësia shqiptare, ndërsa tani është i dënuar penalisht për mashtrim e falsifikim me tatim taksat, bashkë me nënën e tij dhe dy administratorët e firmave të tij në Tiranë. Biznesmenin italian Francesco Becchettin, është dënuar me 16 vite burg për krijimin një skeme mashtrimi me TVSH dhe pastrim parash, përmes kompanive të tij. Po ashtu edhe nëna e tij Liliana Condomitti është dënuar me 8 vite burg, për veprën penale të “Pastrimit të produkteve të veprës penale”. Francesco Becchetti u dënua se përmes kompanive të tij kishte krijuar një skemë të mashtrimit me TVSH dhe pastrim parash. Biznesmeni italian vazhdon të jetë në arrati dhe për të ka një mandat arresti ndërkombëtar. Sipas gjykatës penale në vendimin e dhënë  në krye të një skeme fiktive të lidhur me ndërtimin e hidrocentralit të Kalivaç, gjyqesh, faturash e qarkullimi aksionesh mes kompanive qëndron Becchetti.  Pra dënimi i gjykatës ka vërtetuar se investigimi dhe hetimi i prokurorisë ndaj Becchettit dhe firmës së tij (duke përfshirë televizionin Agon Channel) ishte bazuar mbi shkelje konkrete dhe jo mbi persekutim politik si ka konkluduar arbitrazhi. Përgjatë procesit në arbitrazh Becchetti ka përfituar pikërisht nga mungesa e ndonjë dënim në Shqipëri kur procesi për arsye të paqarta është zvarritur për 6 vite. Ndryshe nga arbitrazhi që ndërkohë ka ecur me procedura të përshpejtuara. Edhe ditën e djeshme avokatët e Becchettit kërkuan ende kohë pasi bënin mbrojtjen prej 1 javë.
