The Forum of Ministers of Economy of the Berlin Process meets in Tirana on September 26, focusing on the common regional market as a step towards the EU Single Market

The Ministry of Finance and Economy announces that it will organize on September 26, 2023, in Tirana, the Forum of Ministers of Economy, within the framework of the Berlin Process Summit, scheduled for October 16, 2023, in Tirana. The forum entitled "Common regional market - a step towards the Single EU Market" will bring together the Ministers of Economy of the Berlin Process, representatives of the European Union and other partners of the Berlin Process, with a focus on the advancement of the common market regional, to promote the development of the economic growth of the region and bring it closer to the EU. This forum will reflect on the main achievements, priorities and challenges in the implementation of this plan and the advancement of the regional integration agenda through support within the Berlin Process, as a very important instrument for accelerating the economic convergence of the region with the European Union. In this meeting, the facilitation of trade and the reduction of barriers, the integration of markets, the increase of regional cooperation, the integration of the payment systems of the region and the economic preparation of the Western Balkans for an eventual integration in the Eurozone will be discussed. Also, discussions will focus on accelerated integration and early access to the EU Single Market. In this context, the main challenges for improving the economic convergence of the countries of the Western Balkans with the EU will be discussed, in order to determine the political orientation and concrete steps, within the framework of the Berlin Process.
